Hong Kong, Dec 23 (CNS) – Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced at a press conference on the 23rd that the SAR government plans to establish an indemnity fund for COVID-19 vaccinations. The fund will provide support to Hong Kong residents who experience rare or unforeseen adverse reactions following vaccination.
Carrie Lam stated that, following earlier vaccine procurement agreements with two pharmaceutical manufacturers, the HKSAR Government has reached an agreement with AstraZeneca to purchase 7.5 million doses of vaccines. Currently, Hong Kong has procured a total of 22.5 million doses of vaccines utilizing three different technologies, which is sufficient for the entire population, and is actively seeking a fourth vaccine.
