Investment Circle (WeChat ID: pedaily2012) reported on December 29 that NeuroEchos announced the completion of a RMB 30 million Pre-A financing round, led byASBVenturesYuanBio Venture CapitalJoint investment, with follow-on investment by existing shareholders.

Yang Huan, founder of NeuroEchos, stated that following this round of financing, NeuroEchos will accelerate the clinical trials and product registration of the world’s first 3.0T MRI-compatible SEEG electrodes, as well as advance the R&D layout for multiple subsequent software and hardware products. Simultaneously, the company will promote the development of an intelligent AI-assisted diagnostic data platform based on core SEEG technology algorithms. In the future, NeuroEchos will continue to leverage its constructed brain big data platform, integrating intelligent software and hardware products across multiple pipelines, to deepen its strategic layout in various fields within brain science and functional neurosurgery.

NeuroEchos, established in August 2017, has remained dedicated to the precise diagnosis of epilepsy within functional neurosurgery. By integrating innovative medical devices with artificial intelligence, the company is transforming the diagnosis and treatment paradigms for a wide range of functional neurological disorders, including epilepsy. The team comprises leading experts from prestigious institutions such as UCLA, Tsinghua University, and Zhejiang University, spanning clinical functional neurosurgery, brain science and neuromorphic research, artificial intelligence and big data, and high-end medical device development.

NeuroEchos has completed the development of its first-generation 3.0T MRI-compatible stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) electrodes, the AI-assisted intelligent detection system 1.0 based on epileptic waves, and second-generation Macro-Micro radiofrequency ablation electrodes, and has initiated product development for the AI-assisted intelligent diagnostic system 2.0 based on high-frequency wavelets and third-generation laser ablation therapy electrodes.

NeuroEchos’ SEEG diagnostic and therapeutic products adopt an integrated hardware-software model. The hardware portfolio includes electrode systems (Generation I and II) designed for the diagnosis of drug-resistant epilepsy, as well as laser ablation systems (Generation III) centered on epileptic treatment. NeuroEchos’ Generation I SEEG electrodes represent the world’s first MRI-compatible electrodes at 3.0 Tesla. Building upon this foundation, the Generation II electrodes enable the acquisition, analysis, and diagnostic interpretation of high-frequency neural discharge signals at 500 Hz and above. On the software side, the NeuroEchos Clinical Decision Support System leverages SEEG epileptiform wave detection and core pHRO algorithms to achieve automatic identification and annotation of EEG data compatible with 3.0T MRI. This system assists in enhancing the monitoring and recognition efficiency of electroencephalographers, significantly reducing the time required for post-SEEG implantation EEG signal interpretation.

Li Lening, Deputy Investment Director at ASBVentures CapitalPh.D.Indicates:“NeuroEchos has developed the world’s first 3.0T MRI-compatible stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) electrodes, which not only eliminate errors associated with image registration before and after electrode implantation but also enable precise fusion of MRI structural images with functional neuroimaging. This advancement not only improves the success rate of SEEG procedures but also provides accurate, reliable, and multidimensional evidence for physicians to formulate subsequent treatment plans. Another distinctive feature of NeuroEchos is its AI-based EEG analysis system tailored specifically for SEEG electrodes. Traditional cortical electrodes yield EEG signals with significant errors, while subdural cortical electrodes, due to their large incision requirements, can only be used intraoperatively.OperationDue to such limitations, long-term signal acquisition is not feasible. Furthermore, the signals captured by these electrodes are mapped two-dimensional representations that fail to reflect the true nature of electroencephalographic (EEG) activity. In contrast, stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG) electrodes can acquire three-dimensional EEG signals over a period of approximately two weeks, clearly documenting the propagation networks of abnormal brain electrical activity and providing a robust foundation for further exploration into the complexities of EEG. Consequently, NeuroEchos’ database will offer effective support for the advancement of brain science. Shenzhen ASBVentures(China) Holdings Ltd is honored to partner with NeuroEchos, providing solid and powerful support for patients suffering from disorders caused by abnormal cerebral discharges.”
