Origincell Therapeutics Secures Over RMB 200 Million Series A Funding to Accelerate Clinical Development and Regulatory Submissions

On January 18, EO Health learned that Origincell Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (“Origincell Medical”), a subsidiary of the Yuaneng Group, recently announced the completion of its Series A financing round, raising over RMB 200 million. The round was co-led by SPINNOTEC, Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Investment, and Yijing Capital, with existing shareholder Qiming Venture Partners, as well as Xiamen C&D Emerging Industry Equity Investment Co., Ltd. and Gaosen Asset, participating as follow-on investors.

The proceeds from this round of financing will support the acceleration of exploratory clinical studies and regulatory clinical trial applications for the company’s core products targeting solid tumors—OriCAR-001, OriCAR-003, and OriCAR-004—as well as product candidates developed on its antibody, TIL, and UCAR platforms. This will strengthen the company’s capabilities in clinical development and industrialization of cell and immunotherapy products. Meanwhile, the company will initiate international collaborations to expedite the global commercialization of its independently innovated therapies.

Yuan Neng Medicine was established in 2015 and received nearly RMB 100 million in Pre-A round investment from Qiming Venture Partners at the end of 2019; in mid-2020, it announced a global development agreement with Antengene (06996.HK).
