Pharmaceutical R&D and Manufacturer
On April 23, Menovo announced that it had signed a ten-year strategic cooperation agreement with Intervet, a subsidiary of MSD. The two parties have decided to establish a long-term and stable custom research, development, and manufacturing (CDMO) partnership in the fields of pet medicines, veterinary drugs, and animal health. Nine products have been identified as the first batch of collaborative projects, with MSD covering the R&D costs and providing corresponding production and operational funding support.

It is reported that the strategic partner in this collaboration is Intervet International B.V., a subsidiary of Merck & Co., Inc. (also known as MSD Animal Health), which specializes in animal healthcare. As a global leader in the animal health industry, Merck’s animal health division offers products for the prevention, treatment, and control of diseases in livestock, poultry, and pets. By providing innovative, high-quality animal health products and comprehensive solutions, it delivers more effective disease prevention and control strategies to veterinarians, farmers, pet owners, and society at large, thereby meeting evolving customer needs and ultimately safeguarding and improving animal health and welfare. In 2020, Merck’s global product sales revenue amounted to $47.994 billion, of which $4.703 billion was generated from animal health products.
CDMO services are a key new business initiative for Menovo and a strong driver of future performance growth. The announcement stated that the signing of this strategic agreement marks MSD’s full recognition of the company’s R&D technology, production, and quality capabilities in the active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) sector. The implementation of the agreement will empower Menovo’s CDMO business, helping to continuously enhance its R&D technological capabilities and project management expertise, accelerate the strategic layout of its CDMO operations, and further strengthen the company’s international competitiveness in the CDMO field.
