Minimally Invasive Interventional Device Developer
Gelonghui, May 6 |Venus Medtech-B (02500.HK) announced that, to enhance its strategic layout in the field of structural heart disease treatment and seize the development opportunities of transcatheter interventional therapy technologies, the Group has decided to invest in Valgen Holding Corporation, an innovative medical device company registered in the Cayman Islands (“Investee" or "Valgen Medtech”)。
Valgen Medtech is committed to providing systematic solutions for pathologies such as mitral regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation. Valgen Medtech has developed MitralStitch, China’s first transapical interventional device for treating mitral regurgitation; DragonFly-M, China’s first transfemoral venous mitral valve repair device; and DragonFly-T, China’s first transfemoral venous tricuspid valve repair device. Among these, MitralStitch and DragonFly-M have entered the pre-market registration clinical trial phase, while DragonFly-T has entered the exploratory clinical trial phase.
This investment will accelerate the clinical research and development of Valgen Medtech’s key pipeline products, positioning several of them to potentially become the first domestically produced innovative medical devices launched in China. Mitral regurgitation and tricuspid regurgitation represent markets with substantial potential. The company currently has a mitral valve replacement device in the preparatory stage for exploratory clinical trials, and a tricuspid valve replacement device in the R&D and design phase. This investment will positively impact Valgen Medtech’s product portfolio strategy. The Board believes that, leveraging this investment, the Company will further strengthen its product layout in the field of structural heart disease and maintain a leading position in both the Chinese and global markets through robust commercialization capabilities.
