MARIX Announces Completion of Tens of Millions in Pre-A Series FinancingRecently, MARIX announced the completion of its Pre-A series financing round, raising tens of millions of yuan. The round was led by Hetang Venture Capital Fund, with existing shareholder Taiyu Investment participating as a follow-on investor. According to reports, the funds raised will be used to support the clinical validation of MARIX’s natural vessel stent product series. Notably, clinical trials for its coronary natural vessel stent are scheduled to commence in the near future. Meanwhile, MARIX will further increase its R&D investment to develop more original medical devices addressing the clinical needs of vascular disease treatment.

In September this year, MARIX and SanoShenChang reached a strategic cooperation regarding their vascular occluder products and vascular interventional business, further accelerating product transformation and improving business layout. Currently, multiple product lines of MARIX are progressing rapidly. The core product, the vascular occluder, has completed all clinical enrollment, while the natural vessel stent product is about to enter the clinical validation phase.

In the field of vascular intervention, MARIX adopts a business strategy of "breakthrough innovation + rapid product commercialization." The MARIX team believes that "rapid commercialization does not mean inaction." Although there are several players in the field of vascular closure devices (mainly foreign manufacturers), extravascular closure-based devices offer high safety. However, the material properties of current closure components on the market fail to provide adequate compression at the vascular puncture site, limiting their use in punctures of 8F and larger.

MARIX’s vascular closure device enables controlled radial or axial expansion of the occlusion component, enhancing the controllability and efficacy of hemostasis while ensuring simple and rapid operation. The product has currently completed clinical enrollment, achieving immediate post-procedural patency at the puncture site, with no complications such as hematomas ≥10 cm, active bleeding, or pseudoaneurysms, thereby improving the safety and effectiveness of vascular closure. Regulatory approval is expected next year, facilitating rapid market launch.

Following the completion of this round of financing, MARIX will leverage its underlying material technology platform and scientific research resources to independently develop or collaboratively translate more innovative products needed for clinical practice. Currently, products such as special-function balloons and special-function catheters are being rapidly advanced, with multiple products expected to obtain regulatory approval next year. At the team level, the company will continue to expand its R&D, production, and commercialization teams, strengthening its full-chain service capabilities for product development. Furthermore, the company will gradually initiate overseas clinical trials and market commercialization.

Regarding the investment rationale for this round, Hetang Venture Capital stated: “The founders and R&D team of MARIX possess a robust technical foundation in biomaterials and photochemistry, while also having accumulated extensive experience in the research, development, and manufacturing of innovative cardiovascular interventional products such as balloons. Throughout their previous professional careers, team members have led the selection and development of multiple innovative medical devices. We highly recognize the judgment and execution capabilities of the entire MARIX team. Following the completion of this financing round, we will facilitate the clinical promotion and industrial collaboration of MARIX’s existing products, including vascular occlusion devices and specialized functional balloons. Furthermore, we will actively advance the overseas clinical promotion, regulatory approval, and commercial application of MARIX’s coronary natural vessel stents.”

Dr. Ji Tianrong, Founding Partner of Taiyu Investment, stated: “China has a large population of cardiovascular patients, resulting in significant unmet clinical needs. Starting with upstream biomedical materials and addressing these unmet clinical needs, the MARIX team is seeking innovative opportunities in the highly competitive field of cardiovascular intervention. Its core product, the natural vessel stent, offers a more natural and effective approach to establishing and maintaining vascular patency. Compared with traditional treatments such as conventional stents and drug-coated balloons, it better aligns with the concept of ‘intervention without implantation.’ We look forward to the imminent market launch of this highly innovative and clinically valuable product, so that it may benefit more patients.”
