March 21 News: Neuralink, Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company, livestreamed an update on the condition of its first human implant recipient, stating that the quadriplegic man is now able to play games such as Civilization and chess using only his thoughts.

The man introduced himself as Noland Arbaugh. While moving chess pieces during the live stream, he said to the audience, “If you can all see the cursor moving, yes, that’s me controlling it. Pretty cool, right?”
During the livestream, he described how he learned to use the brain-computer interface: “I would try to move my right hand—left, right, forward, and backward—and then imagine the cursor moving from there.” He added that he felt fortunate to be Neuralink’s first human test subject, stating, “I can’t even describe how cool it is to be able to do this.”
Although the live stream featured limited content, Neuralink engineers stated that more information will be released in the coming days.
