IT Home, June 2 — Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company Neuralink has officially launched a patient registration program in the UK, open to adults with specific neurological disorders, offering them the opportunity to participate in future related clinical trials in the country.

Although relevant trials have not yet been launched in the UK, eligible adults can register on the patient registry via the Neuralink official website to receive the latest updates and facilitate faster participation in future trials.

The registration page on Neuralink’s official website states: “Joining the UK Patient Registry helps us assess your preliminary eligibility for future Neuralink clinical trials in the UK, keeps you informed about relevant trial updates, and provides you with the latest information on Neuralink Corp and its technological advancements.”
Eligible UK participants must be at least 18 years of age and suffer from conditions such as quadriplegia, blindness, deafness, aphasia, or severe limb amputation. This is similar to the requirements in the United States, where Noland Arbaugh, the first patient to receive a Neuralink implant, was 30 years old and enrolled in the trial due to paralysis below the neck.
It is important to note that enrollment in the UK patient registry does not guarantee participation in future clinical trials. Currently, Neuralink has only one product, named “Telepathy,” which allows users to control technological devices via thought. Musk previously teased another product, named “Blindsight,” on social media.
