According to media reports, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved an application by Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company, Neuralink, allowing it to implant its brain-computer chip into a second human subject. Meanwhile, the FDA also approved the company’s proposed remedial plan to address issues encountered with the first subject, which includes implanting some of the device’s ultra-fine wires deeper into the brain to prevent problems such as wire retraction.
