Developer of implantable neural interface products

Synchron is a company that defines the brain-computer interface (BCI) category. Recently, this brain-computer interface company announced that its implantable BCI technology has taken a step forward to advance the future of neurotechnology.
Synchron Announces Integration of Its BCI Technology with NVIDIA’s Holoscan Platform, Redefining the Possibilities of Real-Time Neural Interaction and Intelligent Edge Processing
Specifically, Synchron will leverage NVIDIA Holoscan to advance the development of next-generation implantable brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) in two key areas. On one hand, Synchron plans to enhance the real-time edge AI capabilities for neural processing on its BCI devices, thereby improving signal processing. This will reduce system latency, strengthen privacy protection, and provide users with a more responsive and intuitive BCI experience.

NVIDIA Holoscan provides Synchron with a unified framework supporting multiple AI models and data modalities; furthermore, at the application level, it offers an optimized application framework ranging from seamless sensor I/O integration and GPU-direct data ingestion to accelerated computing and real-time AI.
On the other hand, Synchron plans to explore the development of groundbreaking foundational models for brain reasoning. By processing Synchron’s neural data at scale, this initiative will create scalable and interpretable brain language models, with the potential to transform neurorestoration, cognitive expression, and seamless interaction with digital devices.
What Is NVIDIA Holoscan?
NVIDIA Holoscan is an AI sensor processing platform that combines low-latency sensor and networked hardware systems, optimized data processing and AI libraries, and core microservices for running streaming, imaging, and other applications—from embedded to edge to cloud. It can be used to build streaming AI pipelines for various domains, including medical devices, edge high-performance computing, industrial inspection, and more.

NVIDIA Holoscan includes optimized libraries for networking, data processing, and artificial intelligence, along with examples for creating and running low-latency data streaming applications across industries using C++, Python, or Graph Composer. With the SDK, developers can build pipelines for sensor data processing to meet latency requirements and scale from the cloud to the data center and then to the edge.

Dr. Tom Oxley, CEO and Founder of Synchron, stated, “Synchron’s vision is to scale neurotechnology to enable humans to connect with the world, and the NVIDIA Holoscan platform provides an ideal foundation for this. Through this work, we are setting a new benchmark for the realization of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs).”
