Developer of Vascular Interventional Devices
Investment Institutions in the Field of Technological Innovation
VCBeat has learned that Hangzhou MARIX Medical Technology Co., Ltd. (“MARIX”) recently announced the completion of its Series A financing round, raising tens of millions of yuan. The round was jointly invested by TusPark Ventures and the Anji Industrial Fund. The funds raised will continue to be used to support the clinical validation of the company's core products, such as coronary artery remodeling catheters. Meanwhile, the company will further increase its R&D investment and, guided by the concept of "intervention without implantation," launch more original medical device products centered on the clinical treatment needs of vascular diseases.

MARIX, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Hangzhou's Future Sci-Tech City, is the first national high-tech enterprise in the industry dedicated to intravascular photochemical cross-linking technology. Adhering to the philosophy of "intervention without implantation," the company focuses on the research, development, and manufacturing of innovative medical devices in the field of vascular intervention. It has pioneered a Chinese solution based on the synergy between optics and vascular therapy, and deployed a series of products, including coronary vessel remodeling catheters (NVS series), intracranial laser balloon dilation catheters (PBM series), and hemostatic occlusion devices.
Amid an increasingly stringent investment climate in the healthcare sector, MARIX continues to attract strong investor interest. Following tens of millions of RMB in angel funding in 2022 and a Pre-A round of similar magnitude in 2023, MARIX has now secured additional capital from renowned institutions in its Series A financing, fully demonstrating its robust capabilities and significant potential in the field of vascular intervention.
Meanwhile, MARIX is rapidly advancing multiple product lines. In June 2024, its intracranial balloon dilation catheter received NMPA approval; in January 2025, the coronary papillary balloon dilation catheter also successfully obtained NMPA certification, immediately ushering in a new chapter of commercial sales. Furthermore, core products including the coronary vascular remodeling catheter and the intracranial laser balloon dilation catheter have both entered the clinical follow-up stage, while the arterial closure hemostasis device has completed the supplemental submission process. These achievements not only highlight MARIX’s efficiency in product development and registration, but also lay the foundation for its continued R&D and strategic market expansion in the future.
In 2025, MARIX will continue to focus on the field of vascular intervention, committed to continuously launching innovative medical device products with significant clinical value, promoting the development of vascular intervention technology, and providing safer and more effective solutions for the treatment of patients with vascular diseases.
Regarding the Two Core Production Lines
1. NVS Series Products:Natural Vascular Scaffolding (NVS) therapy is a novel photochemical cross-linking technique. Upon activation, photosensitive smart materials promote covalent bonding with amino acids in the extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins of the vessel wall, rapidly constructing a natural vascular micro-scaffold at the site of injured vascular tissue. This facilitates in situ self-healing and repair of the blood vessel, reduces elastic recoil, and leaves no foreign material behind after balloon withdrawal, truly achieving "intervention without implantation." This technology can be widely applied in scenarios involving coronary, peripheral, and neurovascular systems, as well as natural body lumens, offering patients a novel clinical therapeutic pathway for vascular injury repair.
2. PBM Series Products:Photobiomodulation (PBM) therapy, which utilizes biocompatible tissue-penetrating light to interact with intracellular chromophores and modulate cellular and tissue functions, has emerged as a promising non-invasive approach for tissue regeneration. PBM acts directly on cells to promote endothelial cell adhesion and proliferation, accelerate intimal repair, and reduce smooth muscle cell hyperplasia.
Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Researcher at the Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry, Chen Xuesi, stated:Leveraging its profound understanding of material properties, the MARIX medical team has deeply integrated cutting-edge materials science with vascular interventional therapy. This effort has successfully facilitated the translational conversion of multiple products from theoretical concepts to clinical applications, demonstrating the company’s robust capabilities in product research and development as well as commercialization, while providing a broader range of innovative solutions for patients with vascular diseases.
Dr. Ji Peihong, founder of MARIX, stated:We extend our sincere gratitude to TusPark Ventures and the Anji Industrial Fund for their strong support. This not only affirms our team’s capabilities but also validates our steadfast commitment to our product R&D direction. We will remain true to our original aspirations, further increase R&D investment, and launch more innovative products tailored to the clinical needs of vascular disease treatment. We also thank our existing shareholders, Taiyu Investment and Yisheng Shares, as well as our partners, for their trust and support. Finally, we appreciate every dedicated member of the MARIX team for their hard work.
Liu Huiqin, Managing Director of TusPark Ventures, stated:MARIX currently has multiple products, including its coronary vascular remodeling catheter, sequentially entering clinical trial stages, demonstrating the team’s robust capabilities in scientific research, innovation, and translational commercialization. Notably, MARIX’s coronary vascular remodeling catheter, now in clinical trials, is the first globally to apply photochemical reactions to the treatment of coronary stenosis. We highly anticipate this innovative and somewhat revolutionary product.
Anji Industrial Fund stated:In an era of rapid global advancement in medical technology, the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases remain a key focus in the medical field. The MARIX team has continuously broken conventions in the realm of cardiovascular interventional products, achieving critical breakthroughs in multiple original technologies. These innovations have significantly enhanced the performance and safety of cardiovascular interventional devices, setting a benchmark for industry development. Looking ahead, we will remain committed to acting as “patient capital,” leveraging industrial fund investments to fully support MARIX in product research and development, clinical promotion, manufacturing, and market expansion.
