High-end Ophthalmic Medical Device Developer
The 2026 International Conference on Innovative Development in Vision Health (Vision China 2026) was held in Tianjin from May 28 to 30, 2026, marking the first joint exhibition participation by TowardPi Medical and Changfazhan Group.

The joint exhibition booth of TowardPi and Changfa Development showcased not only high-end ophthalmic equipment but also, for the first time publicly, the park design of the Zhongguancun (Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmic Medical-Engineering Industrial Park, along with supporting common platforms such as the International Intelligent Medical-Engineering Innovation Center and the Clinical Translation and Demonstration Application Platform for Ophthalmic Medical Devices, garnering significant attention from industry experts and ophthalmic companies.

During the conference, the Forum on Innovation in Ophthalmic Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices, Ecosystem Development, and Globalization in China, alongside the 4th Development Conference of the China Eye Health Industrial Park Alliance, was held. Bao Hongyan, Deputy General Manager of TowardPi, and Xiao Yanguang, Deputy Director of the Big Health Industry at Chang Development Company, were invited to attend. They respectively served as moderator and guest speaker at the Forum on the Distinctive Development of China’s Eye Health Industrial Parks. This gathering marked another reunion of core members following the formal signing by the alliance’s initiating units in Changping this January and the development conference held in Suzhou in March. Participants shared insights and reached consensus on practical issues, including innovation incubation models, regular meeting mechanisms, close alliance collaboration, differentiated development, the promotion of multi-center clinical trials, and cooperation in real-world studies. Moving forward, the alliance will serve China’s Eye Health Industrial Parks in a more cohesive manner, fostering co-built ecosystems and achieving win-win cooperation.
This joint exhibition showcased the achievements, resources, and potential of Beijing’s Changping District in the field of high-end ophthalmic medical equipment. TowardPi and Changfazhan Group will continue to collaborate, adhering to an enterprise-centered technological innovation system, accelerating the development of the Zhongguancun (Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmology Medical-Engineering Industrial Park, and promoting the industrial upgrading of the International Medical Device City and its surrounding areas.
ChinaChina Eye Health Industrial Park Alliance
China Eye Health Industrial Park AllianceJointly initiated by China Eye Valley, Zhongguancun (Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmic Medical-Engineering Industrial Park, and Aier Eastern Eye Valley, and collaboratively established with eye care industrial parks across various regions, the China Eye Health Industrial Park Alliance is the first of its kind in China, featuring an open ecosystem, complementary resources, and collaborative development. Through integrated development mechanisms—including resource sharing and complementarity, industrial synergy and linkage, policy advocacy and joint standard-setting, as well as brand collaboration and enhanced influence—the Alliance aggregates stakeholders to foster the co-construction of a high-end eye health industrial park ecosystem, achieve win-win cooperation, and accelerate the high-quality development of China’s ophthalmic industry and eye health sector.
Zhongguancun (Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmology Medical-Engineering Industrial Park
Zhongguancun (Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmic Medical-Engineering Industrial Park is located in the eastern area of Changping New City. With a total construction area of approximately 226,000 square meters, the project is operated by Beijing Changping Science and Technology Park Development Group Co., Ltd., a platform company under the Changping District government. Guided and supported by the National Medical Products Administration and the Beijing Municipal Medical Products Administration, the park is a specialized, composite industrial hub prioritized by Changping District, focusing on ophthalmic devices and high-end medical equipment. Leading enterprises such as Aier Medical and TowardPi have already settled in the park, while Novartis Pharmaceuticals has established an ophthalmic drug production line nearby, forming a comprehensive solution for ophthalmic diseases. The park has established common technology platforms, including the International Intelligent Medical-Engineering Innovation Center, model animal facilities, an ophthalmic device CDMO platform, vitrified active preservation technology for corneas, and physician training programs for ophthalmic devices. It is currently incubating ophthalmic companies such as Zhizhen Technology, Kangshi Kerun, and Qijing Medical, fostering the development of a high-end ophthalmic medical device industry cluster dominated by advanced ophthalmic imaging equipment and implantable/interventional devices.
International Intelligent Medical Engineering Innovation Center
The Global Medical Engineering Innovation Center (GMEC), established on January 16, 2025, serves as the core incubator for the Zhongguancun (Changping) Intelligent Ophthalmology Medical Engineering Industrial Park. Its functions encompass the integration and translation of medical engineering, international technical cooperation, shared testing, pilot-scale trials, and the translation and demonstration application of clinical achievements. GMEC replicates TowardPi’s mature model for medical-engineering translation and shares TowardPi’s large-scale R&D, pilot trial, and manufacturing facilities. It aims to build an innovation and translation hub for intelligent medical equipment with enterprises as the main actors, creating more cases in Changping District of independent R&D and collaborative translation of innovative, intelligent, and advanced medical equipment products. This initiative facilitates the localization of translated products, joint ventures, and supporting services within the international medical device sector, thereby promoting the formation of a high-end medical device industrial cluster in Changping.
