Cailianshe, July 24 (Editor: Bian Chun)Neuralink, the brain-computer interface company owned by the world's richest man, Elon Musk, is expected to experience rapid growth in the coming years.

According to a document recently presented by Neuralink to investors,By 2031, the company is expected to implant chips in 20,000 people annually, with annual revenue reaching at least $1 billion.

The documents show that,Neuralink also plans to operate approximately five large-scale clinics within six years and offer at least three versions of its implantable devices.namely, “Telepathy” for communication between the brain and machines, “Blindsight” to help the blind regain their sight, and “Deep” for treating tremors and Parkinson’s disease.

The documents also indicate that by 2029, the company expects its Telepathy device to receive approval from U.S. regulators, with plans to perform 2,000 procedures annually and generate annual revenue of at least $100 million. By 2030, Neuralink anticipates launching the Blindsight vision-restoration chip, expanding annual procedure volume to 10,000 cases and achieving annual revenue exceeding $500 million.

Neuralink’s Goals Reveal Musk’s Grand Vision for the CompanyTo date, according to public information, fewer than 10 individuals have undergone Neuralink chip implantation as part of clinical trials, and no patients have regained vision or received treatment for Parkinson’s disease through these procedures.

As is well known, Elon Musk is famous for his tendency to make grandiose promises. For instance, in 2015, he stated that Tesla vehicles would achieve full self-driving capability within three years. However, he repeatedly delayed this timeline, and only last month did he finally launch Robotaxis for testing.

However,Neuralink has indeed achieved many remarkable accomplishments in the past few years. In 2023, Neuralink received FDA approval to initiate human clinical trials; in 2024, it completed the world’s first brain-computer interface chip implantation surgery.

Neuralink Announces Major Breakthrough: Two Brain-Computer Interface Chip Implantations Completed in a Single Day, Marking a New Milestone for the Company

To date, Neuralink has completed nine human brain-computer interface (BCI) implant surgeries, primarily aimed at treating amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and cervical spinal cord injury. Through the BCI device, these patients can control external devices such as computers with their thoughts, enabling them to browse the internet, play video games, and edit videos.

According to PitchBook data, Neuralink has raised $1.3 billion from investors and is currently valued at $9 billion.

In recent years, brain-computer interface (BCI) companies such as Neuralink have attracted significant attention and investment due to their potential medical applications. U.S. regulatory authorities have not yet approved any BCI chips for permanent implantation in humans, as relevant companies are still working to collect data on safety and efficacy.
