Cailianshe, October 11 – In a demonstration posted on social media this week, prominent brain-computer interface (BCI) company Neuralink showcased ALS patient Nick Wray using a BCI to control a robotic arm for eating. Reportedly, this is part of Neuralink’s FDA-approved CONVOY study, with Wray being the eighth patient to undergo the BCI implantation surgery. With the system, Nick Wray has successfully completed multiple tasks, including grasping a cup, putting on a hat, heating food in a microwave, and opening a refrigerator.
