Elon Musk stated that Neuralink is considering upgrading its first human patient, Noland Arbaugh, to enable him to perform more complex tasks using only his thoughts. Musk’s comments came in response to a post on X detailing Arbaugh’s current life situation. Since undergoing the implant surgery, Arbaugh has gradually resumed a normal life; he can now play video games, attend classes, and has been hired as a paid public speaker.

Musk stated on the X platform that Arbo might become the first patient to receive a Neuralink upgrade, potentially even undergoing bilateral Neuralink implantation to further enhance his capabilities. He claimed that in the near future, Neuralink users will be able to outperform most people in fast-reaction electronic games and ultimately surpass everyone.

Arbo himself also shared updates on his condition following the use of the Neuralink device on the X platform. He stated that as more participants join the company’s clinical trials, his direct collaboration with Neuralink has decreased. He revealed that “major news” marking the second anniversary of his implant will be released in early 2026.

Abel emphasized that Neuralink has enabled him to regain the ability to pursue his daily life goals. He is currently majoring in neuroscience, taking pre-calculus and chemical biology courses, and achieving excellent academic results.
