Gelonghui, December 10 | Elon Musk’s brain-computer interface company, Neuralink, has hired a senior official from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) who was responsible for overseeing related devices to lead the company’s medical affairs. In a blog post, Neuralink stated that David McMullen would join the company as Head of Medical Affairs. He previously served as the Director of the Office of Neurological and Physical Medicine Devices at the FDA, where he was responsible for reviewing applications for neurological devices. McMullen has extensive experience in the field of brain-computer interfaces and has frequently spoken publicly as an FDA industry representative. He is also a member of the “Collaborative Community on Implantable Brain-Computer Interfaces.”
