Brain-Computer Interface System Developer
People’s Financial News, February 7 – According to China Daily Online, the research team led by Chang Honglong and Ji Bowen from Northwestern Polytechnical University recently announced a key breakthrough in their development of a three-dimensional conical carbon-based soft cortical electrode array. The team successfully addressed core challenges that have long hindered industry development, including brain tissue damage, signal attenuation, and poor biocompatibility. Furthermore, they completed the world’s first technical validation in a space environment, paving new pathways for the clinical translation and aerospace applications of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs), and demonstrating China’s leading innovative strength in the field of micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS).
Early this year, Elon Musk announced via social media that Neuralink, the brain-computer interface (BCI) company he founded, plans to achieve mass production of its BCI devices in 2026. This announcement sparked a surge in A-share stocks related to the BCI concept, but these stocks soon underwent widespread corrections.
According to statistics from Securities Times·Data Bao, as of the market close on February 6, the latest closing prices of 14 brain-computer interface (BCI) concept stocks had retraced more than 20% from their year-to-date highs, includingHaige Communications、Pulite、Xiangyu Medical、Biotest Biotech、Sanbo Brain Hospitaletc.
