The 2026 National Conference on the Integration and Innovation of Brain-Computer Interface Technology and Industry recently concluded in Nanjing. Nanjing SCIENCE HEALTH, located in Jiangning District, stood out among nearly 200 enterprises across China by leveraging its proprietary core technologies and mature clinical implementation achievements, winning the title of “Top 10 Innovative BCI Enterprises in China 2026” and establishing itself as a local benchmark for medical-grade brain-computer interfaces in Jiangsu Province.

As a local sci-tech innovation enterprise keyly cultivated by Jiangning High-Tech Zone, SCIENCE HEALTH has seized the emerging opportunities in the brain-computer interface (BCI) industry. Leveraging the sci-tech resources and policy advantages of Jiangning and Nanjing, the company continues to deepen its expertise in the core medical-grade BCI sector. Its recognition as one of China’s Top Ten Innovative Enterprises underscores the industry’s high acclaim for its technological prowess, clinical value, and growth potential.

SCIENCE HEALTH’s self-developed “Mingtong” invasive deep brain electrophysiological recording and stimulation device is the first brain-computer interface (BCI) Class III medical device approved in China and the first domestically produced invasive deep brain electrophysiological device. It is now in routine use at numerous Grade A tertiary hospitals across China. A 62-year-old patient with Parkinson’s disease underwent surgical treatment using the “Mingtong” system, which achieved a positioning accuracy of 10 micrometers—only 1/60th the diameter of a human hair—ensuring precise electrode implantation. On the day after surgery, the patient experienced significant symptom relief and regained the ability to dress, walk, and perform activities of daily living independently. “I haven’t been this stable in over ten years; I can finally take care of myself,” the patient said.

In clinical practice, patients with mid-to-late stage Parkinson’s disease commonly experience waning efficacy of medication. Traditional surgeries rely solely on imaging for localization, resulting in an inherent error of 1 millimeter, which makes it difficult to precisely target deep brain lesions and limits therapeutic outcomes. Equipped with three core capabilities—high-precision signal acquisition, intraoperative intelligent navigation, and personalized stimulation modulation—the “Mingtong” system can capture weak electrical signals from deep brain structures in real time, precisely guide surgical procedures, and significantly improve both the accuracy and safety of surgery. It is widely applicable to the surgical treatment of neurological disorders such as Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia. Furthermore, “Mingtong” supports the adjustment of personalized diagnostic and therapeutic parameters, leveraging extensive clinical data for continuous iteration to establish a sustainable cycle of innovation.

For a long time, China’s core neurosurgical electrophysiology equipment has been entirely dependent on imports, with high prices, long supply lead times, and inadequate compatibility, thereby constraining the development of precision neurological care. “Mingtong” achieves full independent research and control across hardware, algorithms, and signal decoding, overcoming multiple critical technological bottlenecks. Its market approval breaks the long-standing foreign technological monopoly and fills the domestic gap in invasive medical brain-computer interface devices.

Behind the impressive achievements lies more than a decade of dedicated cultivation—

In 2015, the core team of SCIENCE HEALTH initiated technological R&D, independently developing domestically produced electrophysiological acquisition equipment to break the import monopoly on high-end scientific instruments. In 2017, Dr. Wu Zhengping, the founder, established roots in Nanjing, strategically positioning the company in the high-barrier field of invasive medical brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) and continuously tackling core technological challenges. In September 2022, the company settled in Jiangning High-Tech Zone, establishing a full-chain innovation system encompassing “basic research–technology translation–clinical application,” formally embarking on the path of industrialization and laying a solid foundation for domestic substitution and the clinical implementation of technologies. Currently, SCIENCE HEALTH’s products serve nearly 1,000 renowned medical institutions, including Beijing Tiantan Hospital and Shanghai Mental Health Center, supporting the publication of over 100 papers in top-tier journals. Last year, the company won major awards in provincial science and technology innovation competitions and participated deeply in several national key projects on brain science. In April this year, the company completed Series A financing from professional institutions, accelerating the clinical translation and industrial deployment of its core technologies.

From laboratory breakthroughs to widespread clinical adoption in the operating room, and from breaking import monopolies to achieving technological independence with domestically produced solutions, SCIENCE HEALTH is illuminating hope for patients with neurological disorders through intelligent manufacturing in China. Looking to the future, Wu Zhengping stated that the company will continue to focus on urgent clinical needs, tackle core technologies, refine its end-to-end innovation system, accelerate the deployment and popularization of cutting-edge brain science technologies, and support the high-quality, independent development of China’s medical-grade brain-computer interface industry.
