Former Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk Executive Philip Just Larsen Appointed CEO of Antag Therapeutics Ahead of AT7687 Phase 2a Trial

PharmaCircle DataMonitoring shows: On May 21, 2026, Antag Therapeutics in Copenhagen, Denmark, announced the appointment of Philip Just Larsen, MD, PhD, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Philip Just Larsen brings over two decades of R&D management experience, with a deep focus on drug development for metabolic diseases and obesity. He has previously held executive positions at several global biopharmaceutical companies. Since January 2018, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Antag Therapeutics and now officially assumes responsibility for the company’s operational management. During the board’s search for a new independent chairman, Jørgen Søberg Petersen will serve as Interim Chairman of the Board.

Prior to his new appointment, Philip Just Larsen served as Chief Executive Officer of SixPeaks Bio AG, and as Senior Vice President of Bayer AG and Head of Precision Medicine in Global Drug Research and Early Development. Additionally, he has held R&D management positions at Novo Nordisk, Eli Lilly, AstraZeneca, and Sanofi, accumulating extensive expertise in the discovery and development of obesity therapeutics. During his tenure as Chief Scientific Officer for Diabetes and Obesity at Eli Lilly, he spearheaded the initiation of a dual incretin agonist development program, whichTirzepatidewithMazdutide...lay an important foundation for the R&D. Philip Just Larsen graduated from the University of Copenhagen with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree and a Ph.D. in Neuroscience.

COMBO Development in GLP-1 and AMYLIN Clinical Programs, Pipeline

Antag Therapeutics plans toLaunch of Phase 2a Clinical Trial for AT7687 in Mid-2026, and will present the latest data from the drug's first-in-human clinical trial at the 2026 American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions, to be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, from June 5 to 8, 2026.

Interestingly, China-based Harbour BioMed recently statedPhilip Just Larsen visited, but his new title was not disclosed at the time.
