Myopia is a chronic progressive disease and has become the greatest threat to eye health in the 21st century.[1]。Children aged 12 years and under who develop myopia are highly susceptible to progressing to high myopia, which may increase their risk of blinding eye diseases in later life.[2]. It is projected that by 2050, half of the global population will be affected by myopia, with approximately 1 billion individuals having high myopia.[3]。
