China's First Long-term Chronic Disease Insurance 'HeartCare Future' Launches, Targeting 330 Million Cardiovascular Patients

On May 24, Shanghai MediTrust Health Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "MediTrust Health") officially announced that its joint exploration with AstraZenecaThe first long-term chronic disease insurance product, "Heart Enjoy Future", has officially launched, with the first policy enrollment successfully completed.

In China, the prevalence of hypertension stands at 23.2% and is increasingly affecting younger populations, with the number of patients reaching 330 million. However, the awareness, treatment, and control rates of hypertension in China remain relatively low. This “Heartful Future” Patient Welfare Program provides long-term services and support to more patients with cardiovascular diseases. It balances the rational utilization of medical resources with the effective control of healthcare costs, enhances the accessibility of healthcare-related products such as medical services and pharmaceuticals, improves healthcare service quality, and meets the deeper health needs of patients.

Mr. Zhang Xiaodong, Founder and CEO of MediTrust Health, introduced: "In collaboration with AstraZeneca, the 'Heart Enjoy Future' project has pioneered innovative approaches in patient medication management and coverage. Two coverage plans have been prepared for patients: a 3-year plan and a 5-year plan. Taking the 3-year plan as an example, after completing enrollment and payment, patients can obtain medications free of charge at designated pharmacies for the first 18 months, and enjoy partial reimbursement for medication costs during the subsequent 18 months. In addition to the primary medication benefit, patients are also covered by a complication insurance policy specifically designed by MediTrust Health for this project—during the enrollment period, should an acute myocardial infarction occur, patients can receive a complication insurance payout of up to RMB 4,000. Furthermore, the project includes complimentary benefits such as a RMB 199 Yaokangfu membership, disease education services, and medication adherence reminders, all aimed at optimizing patients' medication management and improving treatment compliance."

At today's launch ceremony, Mr. Chen Hua, CEO of Huiyi Tianxia, stated that Huiyi Tianxia will support the project by addressing patients' actual pain points, building a multi-tiered online and offline healthcare security system, and fully promoting the innovative commercial insurance model for chronic diseases to benefit a wider patient population.
