Today, AstraZeneca and MSD jointly announced that olaparib tablets, a PARP inhibitor co-developed and co-commercialized by the companies, has received conditional approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) as monotherapy for adult patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) harboring germline or somatic BRCA mutations (gBRCAm or sBRCAm) whose disease has progressed following prior treatment (including a novel hormonal agent). The approval of this new indication is based on the results from the global Phase III PROfound clinical trial.
