Recently, the marketing authorization application for Amgen’s carfilzomib for injection, a therapeutic for multiple myeloma (acceptance number: JXHS1900150), has had its status updated to "Under Review" at the NMPA, and is expected to be officially approved shortly.

Carfilzomib (carfilzomib, Kyprolis) is a proteasome inhibitor. The proteasome degrades damaged or unneeded proteins and plays a crucial role in normal cellular function and growth. Research has shown that multiple myeloma cells produce large amounts of abnormal proteins; inhibiting the proteasome overwhelms these cells, leading to cellular collapse and death.
