According to the latest announcement by China's National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), AstraZeneca's blockbuster PD-L1 inhibitor durvalumab (brand name: Imfinzi) has been approved in China for a new indication. The newly approved indication covers the first-line treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer. Previously, the drug had already been approved in China for the treatment of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
