36Kr exclusively learned that a biocomputing platform companyBioMapCompleted a Series A financing round of over $100 million, led by GGV (Granite Global Ventures),Baidu, Legend Capital, BlueRun Ventures China, Zhen Capital, and Xianghe Capital participated as follow-on investors, with the company's founder, Robin Li, continuing to make additional investments. The proceeds from this round of financing will be primarily used for technological R&D and talent acquisition.

BioMap, positioned as a bio-computing engine-driven innovative drug R&D platform company, was founded in November 2020 under the leadership of Robin Li, who serves as its Chairman.

Specifically, BioMap primarily leverages advanced computing and biotechnology to efficiently extract knowledge from multi-omics biological data, high-throughput validation experiments, and drug development experience, mapping out insights regarding disease targets and drug design...Atlas, transforming drug discovery from a "needle-in-a-haystack" search into a targeted, rational design process, thereby enhancing the drug R&D efficiency for itself and its partners, with the ultimate goal of developing original global First-in-class drugs.

For BioMap itself, the company will also primarily focus on research into the immune mechanisms of tumors, autoimmune diseases, and fibrotic diseases in the future.

To this end, BioMap also launched the "Immune Atlas Excellence Program" in May this year. It is reported that through this program, BioMap will provide its self-developed core bio-computing engine, massive proprietary data, and a 1 billion RMB funding subsidy to collaborate with ecosystem alliance partners in advancing the mapping of the immune atlas, systematically explore the complex immune mechanisms of diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disorders, and further enhance the efficiency of corresponding target discovery and drug design.

As of the end of July, the first batch of the "Excellence Program" has received applications from nearly 100 clinical and research teams affiliated with institutions including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking Union Medical College, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University.

The BioMap team pointed out that for "AI + biopharmaceuticals" to truly realize its potential, AI technology must be practically integrated into every stage of drug discovery. To this end, BioMap is currently establishing its own laboratory to systematically address industry challenges and enhance operational efficiency across the entire workflow.

Following this round of financing, the company will further accelerate the development of its bio-computing engine, continue research and development in multi-omics technologies, high-throughput experimental technologies, protein computing technologies, and high-performance bio-computing technologies, intensify talent recruitment efforts, and advance its initial drug R&D pipeline to a new stage.
