Today (August 2), the Fortune Plus APP released the latest *Fortune* Global 500 list simultaneously worldwide. Impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the total revenue of companies on this year's *Fortune* Global 500 list was approximately $31.7 trillion, down 5% from last year. The threshold for entry (minimum revenue) also fell from $25.4 billion to $24 billion. Meanwhile, corporate profits have plummeted. The combined net profit of all ranked companies this year totaled $1.6 trillion, a sharp 20% year-on-year decline, marking the largest drop since 2009.
Notably, a total of 19 pharmaceutical companies were included in the top 500 list, with China Resources, Johnson & Johnson, and China National Pharmaceutical Group Corporation ranking first, second, and third among pharmaceutical enterprises, respectively; their revenues reached USD 99,437.6 million, USD 82,584 million, and USD 77,278.2 million, respectively.
