STA Pharmaceutical Completes Acquisition of BMS's Couvet Formulation Manufacturing Site in Switzerland

NEW YORK and SHANGHAI, China, Aug. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Shanghai Syntheall Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of WuXi AppTec, announced today that it has successfully completed the acquisition of Bristol-Myers Squibb's (NYSE: BMY) drug product manufacturing facility in Couvet, Switzerland. The acquisition was initially announced in early 2021. This transaction will further enhance the capacity and scale of Shanghai Syntheall's enabling platform, helping partners accelerate the development of new medicines and ultimately benefiting patients worldwide.

The Couvin facility is Shanghai Syntheall Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.’s first site in Europe. Put into operation in 2018, it features globally leading capabilities in tablet and capsule manufacturing and packaging. The Couvin facility strengthens Shanghai Syntheall’s flexible and reliable global supply chain network, efficiently empowering clients to bring more new drugs to market across Europe and globally.

The Covington site will further strengthen Syntheall's global footprint, better meeting clients' long-term collaboration needs. The company not only plans to introduce late-stage clinical and commercial projects from its existing pipeline to the Covington site, but will also continuously onboard new projects, helping clients accelerate the global launch of more high-quality medicines.
