SHANGHAI, Aug. 19, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, Amgen announced that the Company has officially appointed Ms. Ailing Xu as Vice President and General Manager, China. She will report to Ms. Meiling Ke, Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific. As the head of Amgen China, Ms. Xu will take over the leadership from Ms. Ke, who previously concurrently served as General Manager for China, and will lead the team to further advance Amgen's strategic presence in the Chinese market.

Ms. Ailing Xu possesses extensive global and regional strategic leadership and general management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Whether in mature markets facing significant growth pressures or in complex and dynamic emerging markets, she has successfully driven sustainable business growth. Prior to joining Amgen, Ms. Xu held leadership positions across multiple regional markets at Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Roche. She has successfully led organizational transformations, fostering a highly engaged, collaborative, and customer-centric high-performance corporate culture, while accelerating patient access to medicines and shaping local healthcare policy environments.
Ms. Ailing Xu holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia, a Doctor of Pharmacy from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, and a Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
