Medtronic announced its first-quarter fiscal year 2022 results. Quarterly net sales were $7.987 billion, up 23% year-over-year; net income attributable to the company was $763 million, up 57% year-over-year. By segment, Cardiovascular revenue was $2.89 billion, up 18.8% year-over-year; Medical Surgical revenue was $2.322 billion, up 28.9% year-over-year; Neuroscience revenue was $2.204 billion, up 28.7% year-over-year; and Diabetes revenue was $572 million, up 1.8% year-over-year.

Thermo Fisher Scientific reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly revenue was $9.273 billion, compared to $6.917 billion in the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $1.828 billion, compared to $1.156 billion in the year-earlier period. Among these, revenue from the Life Sciences Solutions segment was $3.557 billion, compared to $2.602 billion in the same period last year. Revenue from the Laboratory Products and Services segment was $3.583 billion, compared to $2.787 billion in the year-earlier period. Revenue from the Specialty Diagnostics segment was $1.235 billion, compared to $0.988 billion in the same period last year. Revenue from the Analytical Instruments segment was $1.481 billion, compared to $1.051 billion in the year-earlier period.

Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Sales for the quarter amounted to €9.246 billion (approximately $10.9 billion), a 4% increase from €8.92 billion in the same period last year. Operating profit (EBIT) for the quarter was €1.03 billion, down 8% from €1.123 billion in the same period last year. Net profit for the quarter reached €474 million, up 16% from €410 million in the same period last year. By segment, sales were €4.32 billion for Fresenius Medical Care, €1.755 billion for Fresenius Kabi, €2.738 billion for Fresenius Helios (Helios Clinics), and €556 million for Fresenius Vamed.

Danaher Corporation (Danaher) announced its second-quarter 2021 financial results. Quarterly revenue increased by 36.5% year-over-year to $7.2 billion. Quarterly net income was $1.7 billion.

Johnson & Johnson announced its second-quarter 2021 financial results. Quarterly sales totaled $23.312 billion, up 27.1% year-over-year; net income reached $6.278 billion, up 73.1% year-over-year. By segment, Medical Devices sales were $6.978 billion, representing a year-over-year increase of 62.7%.

Abbott announced its second-quarter 2021 financial results. Quarterly net sales were $10.223 billion, up 39.5% year-over-year; net income was $1.189 billion, up 121.5% year-over-year. By business segment, Diagnostics sales were $3.247 billion, up 62.8% year-over-year; Medical Devices sales were $3.666 billion, up 51.3% year-over-year. In the second quarter, global sales related to COVID-19 testing were $1.3 billion.

Siemens Healthineers announced its financial results for the third fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2021. Quarterly revenue was €5.0 billion (approximately $5.87 billion), compared to €3.312 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly adjusted EBIT was €945 million, compared to €465 million in the same period last year. Quarterly net income was €395 million, compared to €271 million in the same period last year.

Roche announced its financial results for the first half of 2021. Group sales for the period reached CHF 30.713 billion, compared with CHF 29.281 billion in the same period last year. Operating profit for the period was CHF 11.652 billion, compared with CHF 11.766 billion in the same period last year. Net profit for the period stood at CHF 8.216 billion, compared with CHF 8.465 billion in the same period last year. Of this, sales in the Diagnostics Division amounted to CHF 9.042 billion (approximately USD 9.85 billion), compared with CHF 6.079 billion in the same period last year.

Philips released its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly sales were €4.23 billion (approximately $4.97 billion), compared to €3.974 billion in the same period last year. Net profit was €153 million, compared to €210 million in the same period last year. Of this, sales in the Diagnosis & Treatment business were €2.117 billion, the Connected Care business were €1.182 billion, and the Personal Health business were €827 million.

BD reported quarterly results for the quarter ended June 30, 2021. Quarterly revenue was $4.89 billion, compared to $3.855 billion in the same period last year. Net income was $502 million, compared to $277 million in the same period last year.

General Electric (GE) announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly net revenue was $18.3 billion, up 9% year-over-year. Of this, the Industrial segment's organic revenue was $16.9 billion, up 7% year-over-year. Healthcare revenue was $4.454 billion, up 14% year-over-year.

Medical device and equipment manufacturer Stryker reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly net sales were $4.249 billion, compared to $2.764 billion in the same period last year. Net income was $592 million, compared to a net loss of $83 million in the same period last year.

Baxter International Inc. announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly net sales were $3.098 billion, compared to $2.718 billion in the same period last year. Net income was $298 million, compared to $246 million in the same period last year.

Boston Scientific reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2021, with quarterly sales of $3.077 billion. This represents a 53.6% increase compared to the same period last year. Net income attributable to common shareholders was $172 million, compared to a net loss of $153 million in the same period last year.

3M Company announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Alcon reported its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly revenue was $2.11 billion, compared to $1.214 billion in the same period last year. Net income was $151 million, compared to a net loss of $422 million in the same period last year.

Zimmer Biomet Holdings, Inc. announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2021. Quarterly net sales were $2.027 billion, compared to $1.226 billion in the same period last year. Net income was $142 million, compared to a net loss of $207 million in the same period last year.

Smith & Nephew reported its financial results for the second quarter and first half of 2021. Revenue for the second quarter was $1.335 billion, compared to $901 million in the same period last year. Revenue for the first half reached $2.599 billion, compared to $2.035 billion in the year-ago period. Operating profit for the first half was $239 million, compared to an operating loss of $9 million in the same period last year.

Mindray released its 2021 Semi-Annual Report. The company achieved an operating revenue of RMB 12.778 billion (approximately USD 1.97 billion), representing a year-on-year increase of 20.96%. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company reached RMB 4.344 billion, up 25.79% year-on-year. Among its business segments, the Patient Monitoring & Life Support segment generated an operating revenue of RMB 6.021 billion, up 12.68% year-on-year. The In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) and Medical Imaging segments achieved operating revenues of RMB 3.962 billion and RMB 2.671 billion, representing year-on-year increases of 30.76% and 26.87%, respectively.

Canon Group (Canon) released its financial results for the second quarter of 2021, with group sales increasing by 31.0% year-on-year to 881.9 billion yen. Sales in the Medical business segment grew by 9.7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 111.8 billion yen (approximately $1.016 billion).
