A research ward is a facility within qualified hospitals where healthcare professionals conduct clinical research, including clinical trials of drugs and medical devices and clinical application observations of new biomedical technologies. It serves as a vital healthcare resource and scientific and technological infrastructure. This research project takes public hospitals that have already initiated research ward development as its subjects, systematically reviewing and analyzing the current implementation status, summarizing typical experiences from pilot hospitals, and further exploring new models for research ward construction.

President Feng Guosheng of the Beijing Medical Association stated: “The advancement of healthcare standards is inseparable from medical scientific research. Conducted under the guidance of the Beijing Municipal Health Commission and the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, this project will help support hospitals in improving the quality of clinical research, strengthening their research and innovation capabilities, and promoting the development of research wards. This collaboration between the Beijing Medical Association and Bayer represents an effective initiative by academic institutions and enterprises to jointly drive the innovative development of clinical research.”

This year marks the first time the healthcare services section has been included in the main theme block of CIFTIS. Particularly as the world currently faces major public health challenges, healthcare-related topics have drawn widespread attention. As a global leading pharmaceutical company, Bayer, upholding its mission of "Science For A Better Life" at this year's CIFTIS, focuses on three major therapeutic areas—diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and oncology—and is showcasing Xarelto.®、Glucobay®、Adalat®and other high-quality medicines widely trusted by patients, as well as the innovative ophthalmic drug Eylea®and the new prostate cancer drug Nubeqa®and other key products, thereby continuously providing more and better medications and treatment options to a broad patient population.
