Founded in October 2019, MingMed boasts an R&D team composed of numerous top-tier scientists and experts, alongside a Scientific Advisory Board comprising globally influential researchers. The company maintains a pipeline of over a dozen investigational products spanning ophthalmic therapeutics, novel medical aesthetics pharmaceuticals, small-molecule immunomodulators, and cell therapies. The vast majority of these are highly competitive, breakthrough First-in-Class innovative drugs, and its lead products have either completed preclinical development or achieved commercialization. Notably, a First-in-Class ophthalmic drug targeting dry AMD secured U.S. FDA IND clearance in May of this year and has officially commenced Phase I clinical trials.

Zhang Yan, Co-founder and CEO of MingMed, stated: “Over a period of nearly six months, MingMed has successfully completed two consecutive rounds of financing, securing a cumulative total of nearly USD 110 million. We are deeply grateful to both new and existing investors for their recognition and support. Since 2021, MingMed has entered a phase of rapid development. Candidate drugs from key pipelines, including those for dry AMD, a novel botulinum toxin, and a novel small-molecule immunomodulatory drug, have already entered or are scheduled to enter clinical trials in both China and the United States as planned. We will continue to work diligently, uphold our mission of ‘understanding the etiology, advancing medicine, and benefiting humanity,’ and strive to build MingMed into a globally competitive biopharmaceutical company that contributes to human health.”

Zhang Zhen, Founding Partner of Gaorong Ventures, stated: “As a platform-based biopharmaceutical company, MingMed is committed to the original research and development of First-in-Class drugs. We highly recognize the MingMed R&D team’s profound understanding of disease mechanisms and druggability. Leveraging the team’s exceptional execution capabilities and international vision, we aim to develop globally impactful blockbuster drugs in major therapeutic areas such as ophthalmology, medical aesthetics, and immunotherapy. Gaorong Ventures also looks forward to accompanying MingMed on its long-term development journey.”
