Oncology Drug Developer
On October 14, GV20 Therapeutics Co., Ltd. ("GV20 Therapeutics") officially announced the completion of a Series B financing round totaling tens of millions of US dollars. GV20 Therapeutics is an innovative biopharmaceutical company equipped with proprietary technologies in novel target discovery for cancer immunotherapy and antibody drug development. This financing round was led by renowned investment management firm Coatue, with follow-on investments from existing investors including IDG Capital, 3W Investment, Wosen Capital, and Linear Capital. The proceeds from this round will primarily be allocated to advancing the company's first fully internally discovered novel-target antibody drug candidate into the clinical development stage next year, while simultaneously accelerating the research and development of multiple drug pipelines directed at other cancer immunotherapy targets.

As the confluence of a hundred meridians, it permeates the entire body. The name "GV20 Therapeutics" is derived from the acupuncture point "Baihui" (GV20), symbolizing the company's mission to pinpoint the critical leverage points for cancer therapy. Founded in 2016, GV20 Therapeutics was co-founded by Professor Xiaole Liu of the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Dr. Tengfei Xiao, then a postdoctoral fellow at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School. The company leverages innovative genomics and artificial intelligence technologies to accelerate the development of novel cancer therapeutics. Over the past few years, GV20 has established a proprietary gene screening and functional genomics platform to identify novel oncology drug targets. Concurrently, it has developed a proprietary AI platform capable of *de novo* design of fully human antibody therapeutics with optimal functionality and developability. This approach overcomes the technical bottlenecks inherent in traditional antibody technology platforms (phage display and hybridoma) and enables the efficient development of novel antibody drugs against highly challenging targets. Leveraging the synergies of these two core technology platforms, GV20 has conducted the design and validation of a series of antibody drugs targeting entirely novel and highly difficult targets. Furthermore, through an integrated “experimental + computational” approach, the company continuously iterates and optimizes every stage of the antibody development pipeline. Professor Xiaole Liu stated, “GV20 Therapeutics integrates high-throughput genomics, artificial intelligence, and cancer immunology into oncology drug discovery. Rigorous scientific research and a highly interdisciplinary platform represent its most prominent advantages. We are ready to tackle the challenges in antibody drug development, utilizing our unique platform to design candidate antibodies against diverse oncology targets, ultimately delivering more precise and effective immunotherapies to cancer patients.”
Leveraging two core technology platforms, GV20 Therapeutics’ first proprietary antibody drug targets a novel cancer immune checkpoint. Preclinical data demonstrate that the antibody is effective as a monotherapy and yields significant efficacy when combined with existing immunotherapies. The company also plans to establish strategic partnerships with several multinational pharmaceutical giants to accelerate the R&D and commercialization of its multi-pipeline antibody drug candidates. Jiang Kai, Partner at Coatue, stated: “The progress achieved by GV20 Therapeutics fully demonstrates its technical capabilities across the entire development pipeline, from target discovery and antibody development to advancing candidates into clinical trials. The company is well-equipped to conduct efficient and precise end-to-end antibody drug development. GV20 Therapeutics is poised to become a leading innovator in novel antibody drug R&D in the coming years.”
