Original Title: Connected Smart Healthcare Drives Industry Upgrades Abbott's Cutting-Edge Technologies Debuts at CIIE Source: Qingtong Perspective
On November 5, Abbott showcased over 100 cutting-edge healthcare technologies and innovative products at the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE). On its newly upgraded 630-square-meter exhibition booth, the company featured smart healthcare solutions spanning core business sectors such as diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition, and pharmaceuticals, comprehensively presenting a forward-looking vision of sustainable and smart healthcare.
As public health demands continue to upgrade, the integration of cutting-edge technology and medical services is accelerating, making smart healthcare a key driving force in the "Healthy China" initiative. Focusing on the high-quality needs of the Chinese healthcare market, Abbott, as one of the largest exhibitors in the medical devices and healthcare products exhibition area, has brought over 100 technological exhibits. Nearly ten of these are making their "China debut," fully showcasing the company's latest solutions in mobile connectivity and smart healthcare.
In the field of diabetes management, Abbott has introduced its latest digital product—the FreeStyle LibreLink app—breakthroughly enabling "fingerstick-free blood glucose monitoring." The app simultaneously connects patients with diabetes, their family and friends, and healthcare professionals, allowing them to remotely monitor real-time blood glucose fluctuations and facilitate effective lifestyle interventions. By leveraging mobile connectivity technology, it truly delivers more personalized diabetes management.
In the field of vascular and cardiac diseases, Abbott's next-generation implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) and cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator (CRT-D) are globally leading defibrillator products featuring Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with full-body 3 Tesla (3T) MRI environments. These devices can connect to smartphone applications to facilitate effective treatment and continuous scientific monitoring for patients with arrhythmias.
In the field of diagnostics, Abbott has introduced its latest smart diagnostic solutions. For example, the fully automated nucleic acid analysis system, making its debut in China, is applicable to infectious disease testing and can provide clinicians and patients with faster and more sensitive molecular diagnostic results. Additionally, the ID NOW isothermal nucleic acid amplification tester, which utilizes revolutionary molecular amplification technology, is compact, portable, and easy to operate. Even when viral or bacterial loads in a sample are low, it can amplify the target by hundreds of millions of times, delivering test results within minutes. This capability effectively helps slow viral transmission and reduce the risk of infection in the population.
In the nutrition sector, Abbott also showcased its high-quality established pharmaceuticals and premium nutritional products covering all stages of life. Among them was the Abbott Alimentum extensively hydrolyzed infant formula, making its debut via cross-border channels. It utilizes extensively hydrolyzed casein to replace large-molecule milk proteins and is specifically developed for infants with cow's milk protein allergy. The exhibition also featured a range of medical nutrition products, including Ensure, which provides comprehensive and balanced nutrition; Glucerna, a nutritional formula powder suitable for individuals with elevated blood sugar levels; and various disease-specific products that provide targeted nutritional support for patients with special conditions such as cancer and kidney disease.
As a Vice Chair Organization of the Medical Devices Professional Committee for the 4th China International Import Expo (CIIE), Abbott stated that it will leverage the CIIE platform to jointly explore innovative cooperation models with government agencies and industry partners. By actively promoting and facilitating multi-party collaborative innovation, Abbott aims to empower doctors and patients to manage their health more effectively and effortlessly through cutting-edge, intelligent medical technologies, enabling them to freely enjoy a healthier and better life.
