As an "old friend" that has participated in the CIIE for four consecutive editions, Varian Medical Systems (a member of Siemens Healthineers) is showcasing three "global debut" solutions at this year's CIIE.
Varian is exhibiting a full-scale ProBeam 360° treatment room on-site. At 60 cubic meters, it will be the largest exhibit by volume in the medical pavilion, allowing visitors to experience firsthand the power of proton beams accelerated to 160,000 km/s to deliver near-ideal "pinpoint ablation" to tumor sites. Featuring exceptional performance with an ultra-high dose rate and ultra-high precision, the ProBeam 360° system reduces its footprint by 30%, volume by 50%, and construction costs by 25%. This compact design aims to advance the widespread adoption of proton therapy.
Meanwhile, it launched the world's first highly automated, AI-driven contactless cancer radiotherapy center.
Centered on Ethos, the world’s first Adaptive Intelligence solution, the center accurately tracks dynamically changing tumor targets to deliver real-time, personalized precision radiotherapy. Powered by cutting-edge AI-driven technologies such as automated target delineation and automated treatment planning, it completes online precision radiotherapy workflows in just 15 minutes—a process that traditionally requires up to 10 hours. This marks the first commercial application of AI to integrate the entire adaptive radiotherapy workflow, all conducted within a completely contact-free, safe clinical environment.
Additionally, the digital oncology internet hospital solution was launched globally for the first time.
This program is an integrated online-to-offline full-process service platform that combines internet technology with advanced medical practices and resources. Thermo Fisher Scientific: Three New Products Make Their Debut
Thermo Fisher Scientific (hereinafter referred to as "Thermo Fisher") has participated in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for four consecutive years. At this CIIE, Thermo Fisher set up exhibition booths in both the Medical Devices & Healthcare zone in Hall 8.1 and the Biopharmaceuticals zone in Hall 7.2, showcasing its innovative technologies and solutions spanning multiple sectors, including healthcare and biopharmaceuticals. Making its global debut at this CIIE, the Gibco CTS Xenon large-capacity cell electroporation system is purpose-built for cell therapy applications, enabling complex gene editing and achieving transfection and gene editing efficiencies of up to 90% in hard-to-modify immune cells; it can complete gene delivery for 2.5 × 10⁹ T cells within 25 minutes.
Thermo Fisher Scientific has launched the Thermo Scientific HyPeak Chromatography System for the first time in Asia. Designed for downstream chromatography unit operations in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, the system innovatively incorporates single-use technology to provide open, flexible, and efficient support for antibody drug and viral vector process development, as well as cGMP production scale-up.
Additionally, the Applied Biosystems QuantStudio Absolute Q digital PCR system, first launched in China, is a chip-based digital PCR system widely used in residual host DNA detection, viral titer determination, copy number quality control for cell and gene therapy, and companion diagnostics for tumor markers, offering higher sensitivity and precision compared to quantitative fluorescent PCR.
Medtronic: Global Debut of the Evolut FX TAVR System
On November 6, multiple innovative products were showcased at Medtronic's CIIE booth, including the Evolut FX TAVR System making its global debut, the DiamondTemp Ablation System—a diamond-tip temperature-controlled cooled saline irrigation radiofrequency ablation system—making its Asian debut, and the "world's thinnest drug-eluting stent," Resolute Onyx DES.
Taking the Evolut FX as an example, this is Medtronic's latest-generation transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) system, indicated for the treatment of severe aortic stenosis, which received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval in August 2021. The standout feature of this product is that it is the world's only transcatheter valve utilizing gold as radiopaque markers, enabling clear visualization throughout the implantation procedure and thereby making "valve replacement without open-chest surgery" more precise and safer.
Gu Yushao, Global Senior Vice President and President of Greater China at Medtronic, stated that, based on the spillover effects of previous CIIEs, the early exhibition of products at the expo, coupled with demonstrations and communications with customers, partners, and regulatory authorities, has indeed accelerated the market launch process of related products.
KaVo Group: Three Major Digital Innovative Products
On November 7, KaVo Group made its debut at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) with three major digital innovative products: the DTXStudio™ Digital Clinical Ecosystem System, the X-Guide™ 3D Dynamic Implant Navigation System, and the newly upgraded Spark™ Clear Aligner System.
The DTXStudio™ Digital Diagnosis and Treatment Ecosystem (abbreviated as DTX) is an intelligent clinical software making its Asian debut at this CIIE by the KaVo Group. Siemens Healthineers' world's first FDA-approved photon-counting CT technology with semiconductor detectors makes its simultaneous global debut. Utilizing semiconductor detectors fabricated from novel cadmium telluride (CdTe) crystals, photon counting directly detects each individual X-ray photon and precisely quantifies the energy signals carrying vital information about the human body. The paradigm-shifting breakthrough of photon-counting technology lies in transforming "computational estimation" into "direct counting measurement," thereby restoring the true material properties to the greatest extent possible.

Smith & Nephew: PICO 7 Officially Launched
At the 4th China International Import Expo, Smith & Nephew showcased its globally leading PICO7 single-use negative pressure wound therapy system and dressing. Approved for the Chinese market earlier this year, it was officially launched at the expo.
For chronic wounds caused by conditions such as diabetic foot ulcers and pressure ulcers, traditional wound dressings require frequent changes, causing patient discomfort and high costs; whereas the use of exudate collection canisters restricts mobility.
The core wound-contact dressing of the PICO7 consists of four layers, with one end connected to a palm-sized disposable negative pressure unit. Pressing the button on the device instantly transforms the dressing into a breathing, super "cupping" system: it evenly distributes negative pressure across the entire area beneath the dressing, uniformly absorbs wound exudate, and meanwhile, the highly breathable polyurethane top film facilitates the continuous and efficient evaporation of moisture beneath the dressing.
PerkinElmer: Launch of One-Stop Platform for Innovative Vaccine R&D

This year, reporters at the FANCL booth in Japan discovered two "beauty jellies" that are not only pleasantly chewy and bouncy with a sweet-and-sour flavor, but also help supplement collagen.
