Founded in May 2021, Hepa Thera is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of innovative drugs in the field of liver disease treatment. Leveraging technologies such as RNA interference, antibodies, fusion proteins, and gene editing, Hepa Thera is dedicated to addressing unmet medical needs in liver disease therapy, including hepatitis B, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, liver fibrosis, liver cirrhosis, and autoimmune liver diseases.

Its key development pipeline includessiRNA Innovative Drug HT-101 Injection(hereinafter referred to as "HT-101"), neutralizing antibody HT-102 injection (hereinafter referred to as "HT-102"), combination of HT-101 and HT-102, etc., among which HT-101 monotherapy and the combination of HT-101 and HT-102 have been respectively included in the Breakthrough Therapy Designation program by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

HT-101 (Proposed Registration Classification: Class 1 Chemical Drug) is an innovative GalNAc-conjugated siRNA therapeutic with high liver-targeting capability. It specifically silences hepatitis B virus (HBV) mRNA, thereby blocking the synthesis of multiple viral proteins at the source to achieve anti-HBV effects. Currently, HT-101 for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection is in Phase II clinical trials in China.

HT-102 is a fully human neutralizing antibody that rapidly captures and clears HBsAg from the bloodstream, helping the host restore immune recognition. The two agents work synergistically to form a closed-loop therapeutic model of "inhibition + clearance," significantly enhancing the cure rate.

Combination of HT-101 and HT-102: Theoretically, it can simultaneously target HBsAg in hepatocytes and peripheral blood, achieving complementary mechanisms of action with potential synergistic efficacy. Phase Ib/IIa clinical data indicate that the HBsAg clearance rate after 24 weeks of treatment reached 79%. To date, the combination of HT-101 and HT-102 for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus infection is currently in Phase II clinical trials in China.
