On December 10, Regor Therapeutics and Eli Lilly and Company announced a research collaboration and patent licensing agreement. The two parties will closely collaborate in the coming years on preclinical drug development, clinical research, and commercialization to jointly develop innovative therapies targeting metabolic diseases. According to the terms of the agreement, the upfront payment and potential milestone payments for this collaboration total up to $1.55 billion.

Regor Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company dedicated to developing "first-in-class" and "best-in-class" innovative drugs with independent intellectual property rights in the fields of oncology, autoimmune diseases, and metabolism. According to the press release, Regor Therapeutics' AI-assisted new drug development platform, CARD (Computer Accelerated Rational Discovery), deeply integrates interdisciplinary knowledge and industry experience, including structural biology, computational chemistry, biology, medicinal chemistry, and clinical development.

Since its establishment three and a half years ago, Regor Therapeutics has been relying on its AI-assisted new drug development CARD platform to target difficult-to-drug targets. Regor Therapeutics is developing innovative drugs with clinically differentiated advantages. Currently, Regor Therapeutics has successfully built a multidisciplinary and experienced scientific team and established an efficient new drug innovation system.

Regor Therapeutics Grants Eli Lilly and Company an Intellectual Property License, with an Option for Lilly to Extend the License. Lilly will be responsible for clinical development, manufacturing, and commercialization outside of Greater China (including mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan). Regor Therapeutics will retain the aforementioned rights within Greater China. According to the terms of the agreement, Regor Therapeutics will receive an upfront payment totaling $50 million, which includes a portion of equity investment. Additionally, Regor Therapeutics is eligible to receive up to $1.5 billion in potential preclinical, clinical development, and commercialization milestone payments, as well as single-digit to low double-digit global sales royalties.
