Vickor

Structural Heart Disease Minimally Invasive Intervention Product Developer

Recently, Vickor, an innovative enterprise in the field of structural heart disease minimally invasive interventional medical devices, announced the completion of a B-round financing worth hundreds of millions of RMB. This round of financing was led by HongShan, with continued support from existing shareholder Shanghai Sharewin Equity Fund Management Co., Ltd. Huaxing Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for this transaction. The funds will mainly be used to advance the research and development innovation of multiple minimally invasive interventional products, accelerate the product registration and market launch process, and bring better treatment options to a large number of Chinese patients with structural heart disease as soon as possible.

Vickor Medical, established in 2018, focuses on product innovation in the field of minimally invasive interventions for structural heart disease. After three years of rapid development, the company has strategically laid out its focus on three sub-fields within structural heart disease: heart failure, congenital heart disease, and valvular heart disease. It has successively led the development of several pioneering minimally invasive interventional product pipelines in China that are globally leading. Among these, the clinical enrollment for the nanofilm PFO occluder has been completed, the D-shant atrial shunt device has entered the multi-center clinical research phase, and the percutaneous transcatheter aortic valve replacement system, specifically designed for pure aortic regurgitation, is set to enter clinical trials soon. Additionally, an innovative series of heart failure treatment devices has been developed, with some devices expected to enter clinical trials in 2022.

Vickor Medical has a research and development team that combines medical and engineering expertise, differentiating itself from most medical innovation companies. It is primarily driven by a large number of China's top structural heart disease surgeons who are actively involved in the R&D process. Adhering to the concept of "clinical doctor-driven innovation," the company truly focuses on significant clinical treatment needs, keeps up with the cutting-edge directions of international disciplines, and is committed to creating medical value through innovative device development. The company's core product, the D-shant Atrial Shunt Device, is a powerful tool for heart failure treatment born from the collaboration between medical and engineering fields. It stems from the insights and explorations of frontline clinical experts in medical practice.

Heart failure is known as the final battleground for all cardiovascular diseases, with over tens of millions of patients in China. Even under standardized "Golden Triangle" or "Golden Quadrangle" treatments, the 5-year mortality rate still exceeds 50%. In recent years, evidence supporting the use of atrial septal shunt therapy for heart failure abroad has been increasingly substantiated. This emerging interventional therapy boasts broad indications, safety, effectiveness, high surgical success rates, and simple operation, making it a transformative new-generation device-based treatment for heart failure. The Vickor D-shant Atrial Shunt Device, developed by Wuhan Vickor Medical Technology Co., Ltd., is the first domestically produced atrial septal shunt interventional device in China. Through patented braiding technology and product design, it further enhances the device's suitability for surgery and long-term efficacy in the body. The product has already demonstrated significant efficacy in preliminary FIM studies and is currently undergoing multi-center clinical trials in China, with promising market prospects in the future.

Centering on structural heart disease, Vickor's R&D pipeline is continuously expanding. In addition to the two core devices currently undergoing multi-center clinical trials and the six supporting devices in the registration process, Vickor Medical is about to enter clinical trials with a differentiated minimally invasive interventional valve product. This device is specifically designed for pure aortic regurgitation, employing a unique valve configuration and a multi-adjustable bending delivery catheter design to achieve percutaneous intervention, presenting extremely high technical barriers. The product has achieved ideal expected results in animal models and is preparing to initiate clinical safety studies, with progress that is highly anticipated.

Dr. Shang Xiaoke, Chairman of Vickor MedicalStated: "We are grateful for the recognition from numerous top professional investment institutions for Vickor Medical. Our core philosophy is to develop innovative structural heart disease devices that are first-of-its-kind in China and possess independent intellectual property rights, benefiting more patients. After more than three years of relentless efforts, Vickor Medical has become synonymous with minimally invasive interventional treatment devices for heart failure in China. In the coming years, the company will continue to deeply invest in cutting-edge products within the field of structural heart disease and heart failure. Whether it’s the D-shant shunt, a first in China, or globally leading differentiated interventional valves, Vickor Medical represents the precise judgment of top-tier specialized clinical frontline surgical doctors in China, targeting unresolved challenges and pain points in clinical practice, committed to filling market gaps—this is what sets Vickor Medical apart from many other medical companies. On the other hand, the company's rapid development would not have been possible without the strong support of our two professional partners and all shareholders. We are confident in maintaining high-speed growth in this field, accelerating the development of innovative devices and the clinical registration process of our products, living up to everyone’s expectations."

HongShanChinaMs. Yang Yunxia, PartnerStated: "We highly recognize Vickor's team for their keen eye in selecting products and their execution capabilities: The significance of atrial shunt devices for heart failure treatment is increasingly being accepted by more experts worldwide, and the TAVR for aortic regurgitation is also a product that suits the epidemiological characteristics of aortic valve disease in China. Vickor is one of the pioneers in these fields. HongShan has always been committed to helping innovative medical device companies grow rapidly, with the aim of bringing better products to patients more quickly. The field of structural heart disease, including heart failure, valvular heart disease, and congenital heart disease, is one of our key investment areas."

Mr. Xie Yujing, Managing Director of Huaxing Capital and Head of Healthcare and Life Sciences Group"We are honored to assist Vickor in completing this round of financing transaction. Medical device innovation must start from clinical needs, with the requirements of surgeons and patient outcomes at its core.
