AI Drug Developer
VCBeat learned第一时间 that on December 15, AI pharmaceutical startup MindRank (MindRank AI) completed a multi-million dollar Series A round of financing, jointly led by HG Capital and Shenzhen Pinehurst Capital, with existing shareholder Sherpa Capital continuing to increase its investment. This round of financing will support the company's team expansion, self-developed pipeline research and development, and business expansion.
Since the angel round of financing in May this year, MindRank has implemented its self-developed one-stop AI drug discovery platform Molecule Pro™️. It has successfully delivered milestone achievements in the R&D pipelines for several listed pharmaceutical companies and biotech firms, and secured further large-scale pipeline orders. During this period, MindRank designed a best-in-class potential candidate molecule for a listed pharmaceutical partner, which has now entered the subsequent preclinical development (IND-Enabling) stage.
MindRank Founder and CEO Zhangming Niu stated: "We hope to push the boundaries of AI-assisted drug discovery capabilities through the practical accumulation of high-difficulty pipelines, continuous technological innovation, and algorithm iteration. We aim to advance pipelines to clinical trials as soon as possible, bringing value to society."
Deng Liang, partner of Huagai Capital's early-stage medical fund, stated: "MindRank has extensive experience in new drug research and AI-driven drug development. Its self-developed pipeline has made rapid progress in the development of relatively complex targets, showing great potential. The company’s AI-powered new drug discovery platform has gained recognition through collaborations with multiple industry players, while also providing significant support to its in-house drug pipeline. We look forward to the team making steady progress in the field of new drug research and continuing to create value."
Yang Jin, partner of Pinehurst Capital's healthcare fund, stated: "The MindRank team has gained international recognition for its independent development capabilities and technological innovation. Addressing the much-discussed pain points in new drug discovery, MindRank has demonstrated, through practical cases, that its self-developed one-stop AI-driven drug R&D platform significantly improves R&D efficiency, showcasing strong de novo drug design capabilities. It is hoped that in the near future, the pipeline can be advanced into clinical trials to achieve real patient benefits."
Sherpa Investment Managing Director YiNa Shi stated: "Since the angel round investment in May this year, we have witnessed the rapid development of MindRank's team and business. The progress of its pipeline demonstrates the capability and potential of its self-developed one-stop AI technology platform in empowering new drug research and development. We continue to be optimistic and will increase our investment, looking forward to the team breaking new ground in the international AI pharmaceuticals field."
