This strategic cooperation between Yingwei Medical and Academician Dai Kerong's team marks a new milestone in the field of digital intelligent orthopedics. Academician Dai’s team is the first in China to apply digital intelligent technology in the clinical practice of joint surgery. Through this collaboration, both parties will further explore the application of artificial intelligence technology across various subspecialties in orthopedics, optimize surgical planning processes, and focus on the accumulation and reuse of planning data., taking the lead in China to build an efficient and high-quality orthopedic intelligent planning center, and then promoting it nationwide.

Speech by Academician Kerong Dai
During this signing discussion, Academician DAI Kerong expressed great satisfaction with the artificial intelligence system (applied in hip surgery planning) presented by Professor WANG Liao. Meanwhile, he also shared his expectations for AI’s application in solving orthopedic issues (including joint problems) using plain film and CT data.Academician Dai Kerong stated: "If AI technology can be applied in more subspecialty fields in the future, it will significantly enhance the ability of grassroots doctors to handle complex surgeries." Meanwhile, regarding the application of intraoperative guides, Academician Dai Kerong pointed out: "Comprehensive preoperative planning, combined with personalized surgical guides, will further ensure the effectiveness of the surgery."

Professor Yan Mengning, an orthopedic expert, and Professor Ai Songtao, a musculoskeletal imaging expert of the team, are confident in the interdisciplinary collaboration between imaging and orthopedics through digital and intelligent orthopedics, as well as in creating greater academic value. The deployment of the digital intelligence center truly enables a seamless connection between imaging data and surgical procedures, achieving an upgrade from traditional orthopedics to digital and intelligent orthopedics. Meanwhile, the professors are also highly anticipating the application of this technology on a larger scale."Advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and surgical planning should not only be applied in hospitals like Jiaotong University Ninth Hospital. We also have the social responsibility to let more hospitals understand the characteristics of the digital intelligence system, and ultimately allow more doctors and patients to feel the value brought by technological innovation."
