Prostate Cancer Immunotherapy R&D Developer
Venture Capital Firm
Recently, Panru Bio, an innovative company focusing on R&D of prostate cancer immunotherapy technologies, announced the completion of a tens of millions angel round of financing. Investors include Yuanxi Haihe Fund, Huapu Haihe Fund, and Tianjin High-Growth Startup Fund, among others.
Founded in March 2022 on the incubation platform of CASVC Investment Management, Panru Bio is a member of the BioPals ecosystem. Leveraging the robust R&D capabilities of Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Tianjin Institute of Urology, and the Haihe Laboratory of Synthetic Biology, Panru Bio focuses on prostate cancer—a prevalent tumor among men globally—and is dedicated to developing next-generation immunotherapy products, including mRNA vaccines, peptide vaccines, and novel gene editing therapies.
The global market for prostate cancer therapeutics continues to grow, driven by an aging population and rising incidence rates, leading to expanding market demand. According to industry research data, the global prostate cancer treatment market was valued at approximately $20 billion in 2022 and is projected to exceed $40 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 8.5%. Among the treatment modalities, immunotherapy, as an emerging field, is expected to gradually increase its market share, with the global prostate cancer immunotherapy market projected to surpass $8 billion by 2030.
In the field of prostate cancer treatment, most traditional therapeutic vaccines have failed to significantly improve patient survival. Only sipuleucel-T has demonstrated an extension of median overall survival by four months in patients with asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC), though at a high cost. In contrast, novel mRNA vaccines, which encode multiple tumor-associated antigens, can reduce the risk of tumor immune evasion and induce a broader immune response, showing promising application prospects.
Relying on large-sample data from Chinese patients and its proprietary core technologies and global patent assets, Panru Bio has successfully developed PRBT001 injection in collaboration with CanSinoBIO's advanced LNP delivery system. The product has undergone comprehensive preclinical evaluation and demonstrates significant advantages, including high efficacy, safety, and a short production cycle.
With the completion of this round of financing, Panru Bio will further accelerate the advancement of its product pipeline, striving to achieve breakthroughs from technology to product in the field of prostate cancer immunotherapy and to provide patients with more effective and safer treatment options.
