On the evening of January 4, Junshi Biosciences (688180) disclosed an announcement stating that the company has terminated its promotion cooperation with AstraZeneca and reclaimed the promotion rights for the Toripalimab Injection as stipulated in the original agreement.
According to reports, on February 28, 2021, Junshi Biosciences and AstraZeneca signed the "Exclusive Promotion Agreement." The listed company granted AstraZeneca the exclusive promotion rights for the Toripalimab Injection (trade name: Tuoyi) in the field of urological cancer indications subsequently approved for marketing in mainland China, as well as the exclusive promotion rights for all approved indications in non-core city areas.
Regarding the reasons for terminating the cooperation, Junshi Biosciences stated that as the company’s self-built commercialization team gradually matures and more indications for the Toripalimab Injection have been successfully included in the latest edition of the National Reimbursement Drug List (NRDL) in China, in order to better implement the company's product commercialization promotion strategy for the next stage of development and proactively respond to future market competition, the company signed the "Termination Agreement of the Exclusive Promotion Agreement" with AstraZeneca.
