On January 7, SanReno Therapeutics (Xinruinuo Pharmaceutical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.), a global biopharmaceutical company focused on the development of drugs for kidney-related and other diseases, announced the appointment of Mr. Huang Haoyu as Chief Executive Officer, and declared the official launch of the company's operations.

SanReno was jointly established in China by Pivotal bioVenture Partners China, a leading venture capital fund in the life sciences sector, Frazier Healthcare Partners, a well-known U.S. healthcare fund, and Chinook Therapeutics (Nasdaq: KDNY), a biotechnology company. Its English name "SanReno" represents the idea of "three companies working together to focus on kidney-related diseases," while its Chinese name "信瑞诺" reflects the commitment to "keep the promise of creating a healthy and auspicious life for patients and society." The company has recently completed its Series A equity financing round worth tens of millions of U.S. dollars.

Mr. Haoyu Huang, CEO, has over 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly accumulating extensive expertise in the fields of oncology, nephrology, immunology, and antiviral treatments. Before joining Xinruinuo Pharmaceutical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Mr. Haoyu Huang served as the Head of Takeda China's Oncology Business Unit. Prior to Takeda, Mr. Haoyu Huang was a member of the Greater China leadership team at Baxter, where he held the position of General Manager of the Renal Business Unit. Before that, Mr. Haoyu Huang also successively served as the General Manager of AbbVie Taiwan, Vice President of Roche China’s Oncology Business Unit, General Manager of IMS Health Taiwan, and Head of Novartis’ Solid Tumor Business Unit.

Mr. Huang Haoyu said, "I am very pleased to join Xinruinuo Pharmaceutical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. In China, chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and diabetes are among the top chronic diseases in terms of patient numbers. If chronic kidney disease progresses to end-stage renal disease, patients must undergo lifelong dialysis or kidney transplantation, which will greatly impact their lives and impose a significant burden on the national medical insurance budget. Xinruinuo will focus on the field of nephrology, committing to innovative treatments for kidney diseases, providing nephrologists with creative solutions, and bringing healing and hope to patients. In the future, Xinruinuo will also actively collaborate with experts in the field of nephrology in China, helping the company become a global leader in the field of nephrology."
