News on January 19, 2022 /BioValleyBIOON/ --Eli Lilly(Eli Lilly) and Evotec SE recently announced jointly that they haveMetabolic DiseasesA drug discovery collaboration has been reached in the field, with a focus on kidney disease andDiabetes

This collaboration will leverage Evotec's extensive experience and expertise in the field of metabolic diseases, as well as its unique and extensive database of patients with kidney disease, integrated data-driven drug discovery and development platform, to identify and validate promising new targets for therapeutic intervention.

Evotec will be responsible for discovering treatments from targets identified by Eli Lilly or Evotec.DiabetesAnd potential candidate drugs for chronic kidney disease.Eli LillyHas the right to select up to 5 projects developed within this partnership and proceed with any subsequent development, clinical validation, and commercialization.

The collaboration initially lasts for three years. In addition to an undisclosed upfront payment, Evotec is also eligible to receive success-based discovery, development, regulatory, and commercial milestone payments of up to $180 million per program, as well as tiered royalties on net sales of any products arising from the collaboration, with a potential total value of up to $1 billion.
