On March 16, Hasten Biopharmaceuticals announced that, with the approval of the board of directors, Summer Xia will join Hasten Biopharmaceuticals as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Before joining Hasten BioPharmaceuticals, Xia Shaofei was the head of the Hematology Division of Novartis Oncology (China). As previously introduced by Dami, he also started as a pharmaceutical sales representative. He first studied pharmacology at the School of Pharmacy of Shanghai Medical University, then entered Shanghai University of Finance and Economics for graduate studies. In 2000, Xia Shaofei graduated and joined Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a pharmaceutical sales representative. Following a familiar path, he was promoted to senior representative and marketing supervisor. In 2005, he left Novartis to seek external development opportunities, successively joining GSK, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Johnson & Johnson, B. Braun, and other companies in marketing and sales management roles.

In early 2018, Xia Shaofei returned to Novartis and served as the head of the metabolism product line and the marketing head of the basic disease division. In 2020, there were some changes in the leadership of the solid tumor division and hematology division of Novartis Oncology (China) (for details, please refer to MRCLUB's historical messages). On September 15 of the same year, Xia Shaofei was transferred from Novartis to Novartis Oncology to serve as the head of the hematology division.

Earlier this month, Isabel Afonso, General Manager of Novartis Oncology (China), announced to employees that Shaofei Xia had decided to leave Novartis to pursue external career opportunities. Xia's position will be temporarily assumed by Wei Wang, the current head of the North 1 Region of the Hematology Business Unit, who will take full responsibility for managing all operations of the hematology business unit’s marketing and promotion teams (for more details, see MRCLUB historical news: Head of Novartis Oncology Hematology Business Unit to Step Down).
