Medtronic Announces Leadership Changes in Diabetes, Surgical Robotics, and Cardiac Rhythm Management Divisions

On March 17, Medtronic announced the replacement of presidents in its three major operating divisions: Diabetes, Surgical Robotics, and Cardiac Rhythm Management. The newly appointed executives are as follows: Que Dallara as Executive Vice President and President of the Diabetes division, Mike Marinaro as President of Surgical Robotics, and Dr. Kweli Thompson as President of Cardiac Rhythm Management.

Notably, among the newly appointed presidents of the three major divisions, Mike Marinaro and Kweli Thompson are both long-time employees of Medtronic, while the incoming Executive Vice President and President of the Diabetes business, Que Dallara, is a new addition who will officially join on May 2.

Data shows that the cardiovascular product portfolio, medical surgical product portfolio, neuroscience product portfolio, and diabetes business are Medtronic's four major business segments. The three department heads replaced this time are involved in three of these major segments, all of which are key business units of the company.
