Recently, Green Long Biotech, a bio-manufacturing enterprise specializing in bacteriophage technology, announced the completion of a nearly 100 million RMB Pre-B Series financing round. This round was led by Guosen H&S, with participation from TigerYeah Capital. WinX Capital served as the long-term exclusive financial advisor.

The proceeds will be primarily allocated to AI platform development, R&D of new products such as engineered bacteriophages and bacteriophage-derived peptides/lysins, as well as market expansion across multiple application scenarios including animal health, plant protection, and food safety.

Multi-Scenario Expansion

On the foundation of rapidly scaling operations in animal health and plant protection, Green Long Biotech is systematically expanding the application of its bacteriophage and bacteriophage-derived peptide/lysin technologies from livestock farming scenarios into broader domains, including food safety and consumer healthcare.

In the food safety sector, Green Long Biotech focuses on critical points in the supply chain such as cold chains and meat products. The company is developing next-generation biological preservation and contamination control solutions targeting major foodborne pathogens, including Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Listeria, and Campylobacter jejuni. These solutions are designed to help food enterprises comply with increasingly stringent regulatory standards while maintaining cost-effectiveness and product stability.

In the consumer healthcare field, the company is concurrently advancing the development of bacteriophage and bacteriophage-derived peptide/lysin products for addressing skin barrier impairment, oral health, and chronic wound management. These innovations offer new alternatives for transitioning from the "antibiotic era" toward an era of "precision microbial modulation."

Industry Milestone

With the European Medicines Agency (EMA) issuing the world's first quality guideline for bacteriophage therapy products, bacteriophages have formally been incorporated into pharmaceutical-grade regulatory systems. This milestone marks the industry's transition from a "technology-driven" to a "quality-driven" phase.

At this pivotal moment of global regulatory advancement, Green Long Biotech has taken the lead by establishing a comprehensive, end-to-end pharmaceutical-grade Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) system and has successfully passed a multi-departmental joint audit. This achievement positions the company as the world's first enterprise to obtain GMP certification for bacteriophage preparations.

The company has achieved full alignment with international standards in areas including its master cell bank system, host bank management, whole-genome quality control, and process validation. This comprehensive compliance establishes a leading advantage for future cross-border collaborations and global supply chain integration, solidifying the strategic position of China's bacteriophage industry within the emerging global landscape.
