Abbott announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. In the fourth quarter, net sales reached $11.468 billion, representing a 7.2% increase year-over-year; net profit was $1.989 billion compared to $2.162 billion in the same period last year. By business segment, revenue from the medical device division was $3.749 billion, up 15.1% year-over-year. Diagnostic business sales were $4.471 billion, increasing by 2.9%. Pharmaceutical business sales amounted to $1.203 billion, growing 4.9% year-over-year. Nutrition business sales were $2.043 billion, reflecting a 5.5% year-over-year increase. For the full year 2021, net sales totaled $43.075 billion, compared to $34.608 billion in 2020. The annual net profit was $7.071 billion, versus $4.495 billion in the previous year.



Danaher Corporation (Danaher) announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. Fourth-quarter sales were $8.148 billion, compared to $6.76 billion in the same period last year. Net profit for the quarter was $1.747 billion, compared to $1.2 billion in the same period last year. Full-year 2021 sales reached $29.453 billion, compared to $22.284 billion in 2020. Annual net profit was $6.269 billion, compared to $3.51 billion in the previous year.


Medtronic Announces Financial Results for the Third Quarter of Fiscal Year 2022. Net sales for the quarter were $7.763 billion, compared to $7.775 billion in the same period last year; net profit attributable to the company was $1.48 billion, compared to $1.27 billion in the same period last year, representing a year-over-year increase of 16.5%. By business segment, cardiovascular revenue was $2.745 billion, up 1% year-over-year; medical surgical revenue was $2.29 billion, down 1% year-over-year; neuroscience revenue was $2.144 billion, up 1% year-over-year; diabetes revenue was $584 million, down 7% year-over-year. Revenue from the U.S. region was $3.939 billion, accounting for 50.8% of the company’s total revenue.


Thermo Fisher Scientific Announces Q4 and Full-Year 2021 Financial Results. Revenue for the fourth quarter was $10.7 billion, compared to $10.55 billion in the same period last year. Net income for the quarter was $1.658 billion, compared to $2.498 billion in the same period last year. Specifically, revenue from the life sciences business was $4.15 billion, an increase of 38.8% year-over-year. Revenue from laboratory products and services was $4.195 billion, an increase of 39.2% year-over-year. Revenue from specialty diagnostics was $1.447 billion, an increase of 13.5% year-over-year. Revenue from analytical instruments was $1.725 billion, an increase of 16.1% year-over-year. Full-year 2021 revenue was $39.211 billion, compared to $32.218 billion in 2020. Full-year net income was $7.725 billion, compared to $6.375 billion in the previous year.

Fresenius Group (Fresenius SE & Co. KGaA) announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. In the fourth quarter, sales reached 9.966 billion euros (approximately 10.7 billion US dollars), increasing by 7% year-on-year. The quarterly net profit was 521 million euros, up by 5% year-on-year. Among them, Fresenius Medical Care's sales amounted to 4.647 billion euros, growing by 6% year-on-year. Fresenius Kabi’s sales were 1.823 billion euros, remaining flat year-on-year. Fresenius Helios Clinics’ sales totaled 2.882 billion euros, surging by 9% year-on-year. Fresenius Vamed’s sales were 748 million euros, soaring by 30% year-on-year. For the full year of 2021, the group’s sales were 37.52 billion euros, up by 3% year-on-year. The annual net profit was 1.867 billion euros, rising by 4% year-on-year.

Johnson & Johnson Releases Q4 and Full-Year 2021 Financial ReportQ4 Sales Reach $24.804 Billion, Up 10.4% Year-over-Year; Net Profit at $4.736 Billion, Surging 172.5% Annually. By Division, Medical Device Sales Hit $6.859 Billion, a 4.1% Increase. Siemens Healthineers Releases Financial Results for Q1 of Fiscal Year 2022 (October-December 2021). Quarterly revenue reached €5.068 billion (approximately $5.46 billion), compared to €3.868 billion in the same period last year. Of this, Varian contributed €750 million in revenue, while the COVID-19 antigen rapid testing business added €329 million in revenue. Quarterly net profit was €472 million, up from €437 million in the same period last year.

Philips Reports Q4 2021 Net Sales of €4.944 Billion (Approx. $5.23 Billion), Down from €5.235 Billion in the Same Period Last Year; Net Profit at €151 Million, a 75% Decrease from €607 Million the Previous Year. By Segment, Diagnostic & Treatment Business Sales were €2.508 Billion, Connected Care Business Sales were €1.205 Billion, Personal Health Business Sales were €1.045 Billion, and Other Businesses Sales were €186 Million. Philips’ 2021 Net Sales were €17.156 Billion Compared to €17.313 Billion in 2020; Net Profit was €3.323 Billion Versus €1.195 Billion in 2020.

BD Reports First Quarter Fiscal Year 2021 Results Ended December 31, 2021. Quarterly revenue was $4.995 billion, compared to $5.315 billion in the same period last year. Quarterly net profit was $655 million, compared to $981 million in the same period last year.

Stryker, a medical device and equipment manufacturer, announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. Net sales for the fourth quarter were $4.7 billion, compared to $4.262 billion in the same period last year. The quarterly net profit was $662 million, compared to $568 million in the same period last year. For the full year 2021, net sales reached $17.108 billion, compared to $14.351 billion in 2020. The annual net profit was $1.994 billion, compared to $1.599 billion in the previous year.

General Electric (GE) Announces Q4 and Full-Year 2021 Results. Total revenue for the fourth quarter was $20.303 billion, a 3% decrease year-over-year. Organic industrial revenue was $19.6 billion, down 3% year-over-year. Net loss attributable to common shareholders of the company was $3.900 billion, compared to a net profit of $2.442 billion in the same period last year. By segment, healthcare revenue was $4.625 billion, a 4% decrease year-over-year.

Roche announced its financial results for 2021, with total annual sales reaching 62.8 billion Swiss francs, compared to 58.3 billion Swiss francs in the previous year. Net profit was 14.9 billion Swiss francs, compared to 15.1 billion Swiss francs the previous year; core operating profit was 21.9 billion Swiss francs. 3M Reports Fourth-Quarter and Full-Year 2021 Results. Fourth-quarter net sales were $8.612 billion, with a net profit of $1.339 billion. Full-year 2021 net sales were $35.355 billion, with a net profit of $5.921 billion. Healthcare product sales for the fourth quarter were $2.306 billion, with full-year sales of $8.445 billion.


Alcon announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. Revenue for the fourth quarter was $2.149 billion, compared to $1.94 billion in the same period last year. Net profit for the quarter was $139 million, up from $95 million in the same period last year. Revenue for the full year 2021 was $8.291 billion, compared to $6.833 billion in 2020. Full-year net profit was $376 million, compared to a net loss of $531 million in the previous year.


Zimmer Biomet Holdings Inc. announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2021. Net profit for the period was 71.696 billion yen, compared to 58.601 billion yen in the same period last year.


Canon Group Releases Fiscal 2021 Earnings Report. In 2021, the group's revenue increased by 11.2% year-on-year to 3,513.357 billion yen, with a net profit growth of 157.7%. Among this, the medical business revenue grew by 10.2% to 480.4 billion yen (approximately 3.76 billion U.S. dollars).
