CCTV Finance (Reporter Li Tan) According to a report by Fox News on the 25th, after discovering excessive levels of nitrosamine, a potential carcinogen, in its blood pressure medication Accupril, U.S. pharmaceutical company Pfizer announced a recall of five batches of the drug. It is reported that these recalled drugs were sold in the United States and Puerto Rico between December 2019 and April 2022. So far, no adverse reactions related to the drug have been reported. Meanwhile, for the same reason, Pfizer Canada also announced a recall of all batches of Accupril. Pfizer stated that patients taking this medication are not at immediate risk, but long-term excessive intake increases the risk of cancer. Last month, Pfizer also recalled some batches of another blood pressure drug, Accuretic (Quinapril Hydrochloride and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets), due to possible carcinogen content. Statistics show that in the past five years, Pfizer has issued more than ten recall notices across the United States, involving nearly 20 drugs.
