Recently, FiercePharma, an international biopharmaceutical website, reported that Sanofi has transferred the rights of the antipsychotic drug Teralithe LP 400mg long-acting formulation and Teralithe 250mg dividable tablets in France to Laboratoires DELBERT. The two parties signed the agreement on March 31 this year.

Teralithe LP 400mg and Teralithe 250mg are both oral antipsychotic medications, accounting for only a small proportion of Sanofi's pharmaceutical sales. Through this acquisition, Laboratoires DELBERT has strengthened its portfolio in the central nervous system field.

Currently, Laboratoires DELBERT's product portfolio includes 14 products, with expected sales exceeding 30 million euros in 2022 and achieving double-digit annual growth.

Laboratoires DELBERT Co-founder Marc Childs and Thierry Hoffmann positioned this acquisition as part of the company's "ongoing commitment" to invest in pharmaceutical product categories with significant therapeutic value (MITMs) and prioritize making these products available to patients.

Last year, France began requiring MITM suppliers to maintain drug inventories of at least 2 months. Earlier this year, the minimum stock requirements for some of these products changed, with 422 drugs seeing their minimum stock increased to at least 4 months.

These inventory requirements are mainly proposed to prevent shortages of critical drugs. However, in some cases, they can impose product-related burdens on manufacturers, especially when the products have little commercial importance to the company. Laboratoires DELBERT will carve out a niche market in ensuring access to MITM.

Currently, Laboratoires DELBERT has established a MITM product portfolio, which is positioned in three specific therapeutic areas: anti-infectives, central nervous system, and oncology.
