On December 15, 2025, Byterna Therapeutics announced the completion of its Angel+ financing round. This round was exclusively invested by Efung Zhuohua Fund. The proceeds will be used to accelerate the Investigator-Initiated Trial (IIT) clinical research of its circular mRNA (cmRNA) in vivo CAR-T pipeline, BR101.

Founded in June 2023, Byterna is a biopharmaceutical innovator centered on AI-driven circular mRNA and targeted lipid nanoparticle (tLNP) technologies, focusing on the development of novel circular mRNA immunotherapies. To date, Byterna has achieved technological breakthroughs in multiple high-barrier areas, including scarless and efficient circularization, AI-based sequence design, chemical modification of circular mRNA, in vivo T-cell-targeted delivery, and circular mRNA CAR design and evaluation.  Byterna has independently developed and established a globally leading platform for circular mRNA in vivo CAR-T drug development. It has built a pipeline of multiple in vivo CAR-T candidates, with its core program now advancing rapidly toward clinical studies.

Dr. Xian Zeng, Co-founder and CEO of Byterna Therapeutics, stated: "We are delighted to receive the support and recognition from Efung Zhuohua Fund. As one of China's earliest and most prominent investment institutions in the field of in vivo CAR-T, Efung Capital possesses an international perspective and unique insights into the scientific foundation and industrialization of in vivo CAR-T therapies. We believe this collaboration will provide multi-dimensional empowerment for our in vivo CAR-T drug development, accelerating the clinical research and future commercialization of our circular mRNA (cmRNA) in vivo CAR-T pipeline, ultimately benefiting patients worldwide. We also look forward to contributing, with the support of Efung Capital and both new and existing shareholders, to China's in vivo CAR-T industry in achieving international breakthroughs and leadership."

Mr. Chao Zhang, Head of Efung Zhuohua Fund, commented: "Since early 2024, Efung Zhuohua Fund has been evaluating investment opportunities in the in vivo CAR-T sector. The Byterna team demonstrates strong independent R&D and continuous innovation capabilities, having established multiple globally leading technology platforms. Byterna holds comprehensive technological leadership in areas such as scarless circularization efficiency, AI-based sequence design, and chemical modification of circular mRNA. Its pipeline of multiple in vivo CAR-T candidates holds significant potential in fields including oncology and autoimmune diseases. We look forward to Byterna rapidly advancing its clinical studies to bring more and better treatment options to patients."
